Stef Prescott is five months pregnant; no regrets leaving showbiz career

“I will be 6 months in June," panimula niya.

Is it safe for the baby?

“During my first trimester, I had a craving for peaches. Then I wanted Jicamas [Mexican turnip] with suka. And then I wanted puto na puti.

“I did gain a lot of weight since becoming pregnant, but I am still in the normal range for how far along I am.

“I do watch what I eat, and try to stay away from fast food, food with preservatives in it, and sweets.”

THE DISCOVERY.

Saad niya, “The first thing I did was thank God for such a wonderful blessing.

“Not everyone is given the blessing of having a child. Hindi ako umiyak or natakot.

“I knew that everything was going to be alright, and that I just had to live up to what I did.”

Kuwento niya, “My dad was very calm and happy about it.

“He was the first person I told besides the baby’s father.

“My mom, on the other hand, cried and was hurt at first.

“After a while, natanggap din niya, and she is very excited na rin to become a lola.

“I understand naman yung reaction ni Mommy noong una.

"Kasi nga, I just turned 22 years old last March tapos heto, pregnant na ako at bibigyan ko na sila ni Daddy ng apo.

“But what’s good is that I have their support.

THE BABY’S FATHER.

Sabi ni Stef, “Marriage will be set aside until the baby arrives.

“I feel it is important to focus on one thing at a time, so not to get overwhelmed with the situation.

“I need to give my baby all of my efforts to make his arrival as safe and secure as possible.

“A wedding will come soon, but not anytime this year.

“As of now nga, we still do not have a name picked out for our baby yet, but we would like to give him a biblical name.”

GIVING BIRTH IN THE U.S.

“I will be giving birth in the States, so my plans are to get the baby settled and ready to bring back to the Philippines.

“That will be probably a few months after I give birth to him. No plans are final yet though.

“And I am aiming for a normal birth.

“I still do not know what will happen, because I have heard of women wanting to go normal, but having no choice but to have a CS in the end.

“So I don’t know what will happen, but for sure I want to have a normal birth.”

NO REGRETS.

“I don’t have any regrets on leaving showbiz because of my situation.

“I didn’t have any follow-up projects after Survivor Philippines and I was already vacant for a year.

“I took what happened as God’s way of putting things into place in my life.

“I’m thankful that it didn’t happen when I had commitments and ongoing projects, that would have been embarrassing to the production.

“As for my contract with GMA Artist Center, it ended in March of this year. But I did visit their office last week, just to say hello sa mga tao doon.

“If ever na I decide na mag-work ulit, freelancer na ako.

“But like what I said, my baby is my priority.

“Gusto kong ma-feel talaga ang pagiging isang hands-on mom.

That’s why I love her for that.

“I will try my very best to be the best mom for my baby.”
