Kristoffer Martin earns honorable mention as Best Supporting Actor for Oros in 16th Annual Long Island International Film Expo

Nabigyan si Kristoffer ng “honorable mention” as Best Supporting Actor sa 16th Annual Long Island International Film Expo 2013 in New York. Binigyang pansin ang mahusay na pagganap ni Kristoffer sa indie film na Oros (The Coin Bearer). Ang nanalo sa naturang kategorya ay ang American actor na si Michael Giese para sa pelikulang Wet Behind The Ears.

Masayang-masaya ang Kapuso Tween actor na si Kristoffer Martin dahil muli na namang nabigyan ng pansin ang kanyang performance sa indie film na Oros (The Coin Bearer).

Nabigyan si Kristoffer ng “honorable mention” as Best Supporting Actor sa 16th Annual Long Island International Film Expo 2013 in New York.

Ang nanalo sa naturang kategorya ay ang American actor na si Michael Giese para sa pelikulang Wet Behind The Ears.

Ito ang ika-apat na beses na napansin ang performance ni Kristoffer sa naturang indie film kunsaan gumanap siya bilang si Abet, isa sa mga slum dwellers na ginagamit ang mga unclaimed cadavers para sa isang fake na burol para maisagawa nila ang iligal na pasugalan.

Unang na-nominate ang tween actor sa 8th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival at pati na sa YCC (Young Critics Circle). Nanalo naman siya sa Golden Screen Awards for Best Supporting Actor.

Ang pelikulang Oros (The Coin Bearer) naman ay nanalo bilang Best Feature sa 2013 DC Independent Film Festival in Washington.

Last year, naparangalan din ito sa Vancouver International Film Festival in Canada and Asiatica Filmmediale in Rome, Italy.

Ipinalabas din ang Oros sa ASEAN International Film Festival in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia noong March 2013. Dinala rin ito sa Cleveland International Film Festival in Ohio last April 2013.

Kinatutuwa nga ni Kristoffer ang tuluy-tuloy na pagbigay-pansin sa pelikula nila, hindi lang dito sa ating bansa kundi pati na sa ibang international film festivals.

“Noong binalita nga sa akin ni Direk Paul Sta. Ana ang tungkol nga sa pagbigay sa akin ng honorable mention, hindi pa ako makapaniwala.

“Noong i-send sa akin ni direk ang isang e-mail kunsaan nandoon ang list of winners ng film festival, nakita ko nga ang name ko.

“Nakaka-shock lang kasi more than 150 films ang pinadala sa festival mula sa iba’t ibang countries. At ang suwerte ko, kahit hindi ako nanalo, yung makuha ko ang honorable mention...

“Malaking karangalan na iyon para sa akin at para na rin sa bansa natin.

“Noong sinu-shoot nga namin yung movie, panay ang dasal ko na sana’y mapansin ang movie namin. Bagama’t maliit lang siyang pelikula, malaki ang mensahe niya para sa maraming tao.

“Natupad nga ni God ang pinagdasal ko. Ilang film festivals na nga ang napuntahan ng Oros at nagugustuhan nila ito,” sagot pa ni Kristoffer nang makapanayam namin siya via direct messaging sa social networking site na Twitter.

Ayon nga sa website ng naturang film festival (http://liifilmexpo.org), ang 16th Annual Long Island International Film Expo ay magaganap mula July 17-25. Pinadala rito ang 150 short and feature-length independent films from 48 countries representing a variety of genres.

“The Long Island International Film Expo includes an informal Opening Night Party attended by participating filmmakers, sponsors, dignitaries, board members, press/media, and ticket holders (this event is invitation only).

“Several panels are held during the Long Island International Film Expo – topics include: distribution, scriptwriting, legal music and a filmmaker panel/breakfast.

“Once the winners of the Long Island International Film Expo are chosen (a combination of audience ballot and judging committee), they are honored at the Closing Night Party and Awards Ceremony, where they receive trophies and winners’ prizes (which vary from cash prizes, editing time, DVDs, free rentals of lights, etc.).

“The Closing Party and Awards Ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Filmmakers Lounge, directly West of the Bellmore Movies.

“Awards are given for: Best Director, Best Story, Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Long Island Film, Best Student Film, Best Animation, Best Foreign Film and other special categories.

“Technical categories include: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Lighting.

Nais ngang gumawa ulit ni Kristoffer ng indie film na de calibre rin tulad ng Oros.

“Hopefully makagawa ulit ako ng kasing-ganda ng Oros.

“Alam ko na minsan lang dumating sa atin ang gano’ng klaseng role, pero pinagdarasal ko na sana ay may magandang role ulit akong gawin.

“Hindi naman kailangan na pang-award pero yung maipapakita ko ulit ang kakayanan ko bilang isang aktor.”

Kasalukuyan ngang busy si Kristoffer sa afternoon drama series na Kakambal Ni Eliana at sa Sunday All Stars kunsaan nasa team siya na Insta Gang ni Christian Bautista.
