Boy Abunda on pursuing political plans in 2016: “There’s a possibility. I might and am thinking about it.”

Boy on why he never wants to stop learning: “It really humbles me ’coz everytime I go to school it made me realize that I am a student at ang dami-dami kong hindi alam.

Simulang pahayag ni Boy, “I wanna be very blunt about it.

“When you go to school like when I was finishing my Master’s [Degree] sa Communication and now doing my Doctorate Degree sa Social Development, napaka-massive...

“It’s very expansive sa Social Development.

“So, you have to have... not a scholastic, didactic understanding of communication... but that you have to... kailangang maganda ang pang-unawa mo sa communication for you to understand clearly and meaningfully what is social development.”

THE PERENNIAL STUDENT. It humbles me...

“It really humbles me ’coz everytime I go to school it makes me realize that I am a student at ang dami-dami kong hindi alam.

“Lalo na kapag napapagtagpo mo whether in agreement or in collision, may mga natututunan ka.

That’s why I didn’t take a Doctoral Degree in Communications.

“Kasi yun na ang ginagawa ko, e. Yun na ang buhay ko, e. I need to go to Social Development para lumawak pa ang aking perspektibo.”

[Doctor in Philosophy].

“In the beginning of the class kasi you go in consultation with a doctor.

“We call them a doctor. Dini-discuss sa klase, in the middle of the class, you go with your instructor for consultation and at the end of a semester, you present the paper that you write.

“Right now, nasaan akong stage?

“Kaya nga nag-leave ako sa Bandila [kung saan may segment siya, ang “Ikaw Na!”] for two days just to be able to finish those exams.

“I’m done with it, I got an award,” pagmamalaki pa niya.

Sabi pa niya ulit, “Pangatlo, I’m opening myself to the possibilities that I don’t know.

“Possibilities of what? For example, magtuturo ba ako, magtatayo ako ng eskuwelahan? Am I going to join the government?

“Paghahanda ba ito for something that I would do outside what I’m doing today? We don’t know.

“So taking these things, I’m opening myself to vast possibilities of whatever the university can offer.”

Ayon sa The Buzz host, “I’m ready to move on. Maybe not just ready to move on but I’m open.

“Magulo naman kasi talaga ako. I’m restless.

“Gusto kong maging ganito o maging ganoon. And I’m open to doing more. And be open to do beyond what I’m doing today is to say that I’m ready.”

ACADEMIC CAREER?

“Natuwa lang ako na hindi ko iniisip na for somebody who is an undegraduate when I started in this business [showbiz] and now I’m finsihing my Doctoral Degree before the end of the year.

“I’m also breaking stereotypes. I’m breaking condescending stereotypes—that if you’re in this business, you are supposed to be not academically successful.

“I really don’t know. This can bring me to a teaching post. I don’t know. But I can na.”

Saad niya, “No, when I’m doing this [pag-aaral], I’m in the house and I can still take care of my Nanay [Maria Fe].

“I have enough time to write, to explore worlds that, you know, are not normally and usually open to people like us.

“Ang umaga ko talaga is sleeping time ’coz i finish very late. I wake up at one in the afternoon or at two, I get eight hours.

“Every single minute is worth reading, studying, working. I can’t imagine myself doing nothing.”

“Oo naman,” bulalas ng Best Talk Show Host awardee. “Buhay ko ang nanay ko.”

“Everything is secondary.”

TRANSCENDING STEREOTYPES.

Komento niya, “I think nabago na ’yan. This generation is setting a different message.

“So,people are realizing that we are beyond who they think we are.

“Because there’s nothing wrong with being a parlorista. Nothing is wrong.

“That has changed. The struggle of the LGBT [lesbian gay bisexual transgender community] is in progress.

“I would take it against anybody who thinks that gays are good in beauty careers but we’ve got beyond that. But to stereotype us is wrong,” diin niya.

POLITICAL PLANS.

Bulalas ni Boy, “There’s a possibility. I might and am thinking about it

“And if I would, I would probably run as a Governor of Samar [Boy is a native of Borongan City, Eastern Samar].

“I wanna be hands-on. I wanna serve my main province.

“Sa family naman, ako lang ang wala sa pulitika and its something that I understand now. It’s something that I am familiar with.

“But to say that I am, hindi pa. Hindi ko pa alam.

“You would know that. I am very, very strong with my instincts. You would know,” pagtatapos niya.
