Martin Escudero waits until TV5 contract ends; parents stand as temporary managers

Martin Escudero told that his parents stand as his temporary managers after his fall out with his former manager Popoy Caritativo: “Sa ngayon po, wala pa po kaming nagiging manager talaga. Sila muna yung tumatayo. Sila muna yung nakikipag-negotiate.”

Zombadings star Martin Escudero was among the early celebrities to arrive at the YES! magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful Stars that took place yesterday, July 26, at the Crowne Plaza, Ortigas Avenue.

Martin makes it to this year’s “most beautiful” list along with his co-TV5 talents Eula Caballero, Vin Abrenica, and Sophie Albert. All four Kapatid stars are placed in the “Faces of Five” category.

Meanwhile, TV5 princess and FHM covergirl Ritz Azul is put under the “Hotness” category.

“Pili lang yung mga nasasali dito… masaya ako na hindi ako nawawala sa listahan,” remarked the 23-year-old actor when asked how he feels about making it to the list for the second time around.

SLIMMER MARTIN. Martin walked into the Thursday’s afternoon event looking slimmer than he used to.

He attributes his leaner bod to regular exercise—“gym lang, walking”— and a salad diet.

The actor eagerly dished out, “Nag-iimbento ako ng mga salad ko, e. Yung magagandang klase ng prutas at gulay, talagang hindi dapat nawawala.”

MOST BEAUTIFUL. Maintaining good looks has to do with keeping one’s values intact, according to Martin.

“Siyempre kailangan mabuti rin yung kalooban mo. Nagre-reflect yun, e.”

The actor added, “Ang pinakaimportante talaga sa akin yung kagandahan ng ugali talaga, e.

“May babae kasi na kunwari maganda pero pag nakita mo na yung ugali na hindi maganda, pumapangit na rin sa paningin ko, e.

“Importante yung ugali talaga. Dapat maganda, busilak yung kalooban.”

Asked who he deems “most beautiful,” Martin revealed that ABS-CBN stars Sarah Geronimo, Jessy Mendiola, and Kim Chiu make it to his personal list.

PARENTS ARE TEMPORARY MANAGERS. It was reported on (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last July 22, Monday, that Martin’s contract with TV5 ends on January 2014.

In the said news item, the actor told that his former manager, Popoy Caritativo, still stands as his manager in the existing contract.

“Siya pa rin ang manager ko doon,” he stated, despite his decision to drop Popoy as his manager early this year due to their differences in handling Martin’s talent earnings.

Martin likewise stated in the same article that while he and Popoy are in not on speaking terms at present, the latter still gets his due commission.

“Nagbigay na rin siya ng sulat sa TV5 na automatic split na,” he added.

Asked for an update yesterday as to who manages him now, Martin told, “Sa ngayon po, wala pa po kaming nagiging manager talaga.

“Sila muna yung tumatayo. Sila muna yung nakikipag-negotiate.

“Pero inaantay ko lang rin po matapos yung contract sa [TV]5.

“Kaya hinahayaan na lang muna namin na kami-kami na lang muna ang nakikipag-usap.”
