Lovi Poe doesn’t want to make a big deal out of Jake Cuenca’s change of heart.
Last year, at the launch of YES! 100 Most Beautiful Stars, the Kapamilya actor named her as the "pinakamaganda" in showbiz.
This year, however, he chose Jessy Mendiola.
Lovi just smiled when the topic was brought up earlier, July 28, at Ryu Ramen and Curry restaurant on Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City, where she met up with a few members of the press.
“Wala, ako… I don’t have problem with him naman, e. Wala naman, e. We don’t get to talk anymore. Matagal na kaming hindi nag-uusap. We don’t get to hang out anymore.”
But, even so, “He’ll always remain a good friend.”
The topic shifted to her lovelife. Is she dating?
“Wala,” she threw in quickly.
“I don’t have suitors now. Parang loveless talaga. I’m just focused sa work. Wala, e, I have no time din, e.”
At present, she is busy with GMA-7’s upcoming TV series Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas and GMA News TV’s document-drama Titser.
She also has a Cinemalaya entry— Sana Dati, which will hold its gala night on July 30, 9:00 p.m., at the CCP Main Theater— plus, a Sineng Pambansa film— Lihis, which will be shown in September.
LOVELIA. Because of her TV projects, doing films will temporarily take a back seat.
The 24-year-old actress said, “Pahinga muna ako sa movies. For a few months yun yung ginawa ko, e.”
Recording does not figure in her immediate plans either because, “every time puyat ako, wala akong voice,” Lovi explained.
Her time and energy will be devoted to Lovelia, her character in Akin Pa Rin Ang Bukas.
“Ano kasi siya e parang anak siya sa pagkadalaga, so may struggles siya...”
Playing kontrabida in Lovelia’s life is Helen Gamboa.
“Kakawawain niya ako. Lola ko siya dun, e. Maganda yung script.”
And she will not mind if the scenes get more physical, “I wouldn’t be giving the viewers less of what they should get.”
Meanwhile, Cesar Montano and Rocco Nacino will be playing as her leading men. Both, according to the Primera Aktresa, have “nakaka-in love na characters.”
And she assured the viewers that some scenes are gonna be “intense,” but most will have “something to deal with day-to-day basis.”
SINGLE STATUS. Off cam, Lovi plans to make the most out of her “zero” lovelife.
“I just wanna work and travel. Alone,” she remarked.
Isn’t it more fun to travel with a boyfriend?
"Wala, ganun ako, e. I’ll enjoy it with my girlfriends. I don’t feel controlled.”
She picked Greece and New York as her target destinations.
The Kapuso star related, “I went to Venice already for the film festival.
"New York. I’ll go back to New York. I’d go to the Friends, basta yung street kung saan sinu-shoot yung Friends.”
She was referring to the American sitcom that made Jennifer Aniston famous. Most scenes in the series were shot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California.
Going back to boyfriends, does she have a requirement?
“Gusto ko, uhm, importante, may sense of humor, may ambisyon sa buhay, and matalino…”
But for now, Lovi stressed, love doesn’t have a place in her life, especially “after everything I’ve been through…”
Bandera showbiz editor Ervin Santiago cut in: So, just in case Marian Rivera signs up with TV5, is she going to be the next Primetime Queen of GMA-7?
Her quick reply, “Ay, hindi ko naiisip yun. Sa kanya yun, e.”
