“Our play is a parody/satire about realities in showbiz.
“I play the most popular matinee idol in the country named JV San Miguel and yes, may konting skin kaming lahat na ipapakita rito pero in a funny and sexy way,” nakangiting paliwanag ng actor/singer.
So, I need to learn how to act bigger for the stage play,” saad ng nakababatang kapatid ni Rannie Raymundo.
“I’ve only been acting since 2008. Ang unang movie ko ay Fidel where I was lucky to be the lead.
“I have simple dreams and ambitions in the world of entertainment and in my five short years in the business, I thought I have done more than enough to satiate my passion for this art.
“I had the honor of working with the great Mario O’Hara sa kanyang final movie—Ang Paglilitis ni Andres Bonifacio where I played Emilio Aguinaldo.
“I have worked with cinematic icons like Peque Gallaga as Lapu-Lapu in A Nation Imagined, and have been in an ABS-CBN teleserye as Turko in Pieta.
“Gumawa rin ako ng TV shows and movies in Singapore and Korea at naging speaker in the Hollywood Film Makers Round Table Conference moderated by Hollywood actor Rob Schneider at iba pa.
“Aside from that, I was in a very stable relationship with my girlfriend of five years.
“So, I was ready to move on into another phase of my life and began learning more about my dad’s business so I can take part in it and eventually settle down and live a more quiet life,” mahabang kuwento ni Lance.
DESTINY CALLS.
“Last February, I became single and either it’s by coincidence or just destiny, but merely a few days after being single, I received an invitation from Direk Ato Bautista to play the role of Willy Cortes in his Cine Filipino entry Mga Alaala ng Tag-ulan.
“Actually, yung role was originally pegged for Mark Gil when this script was written over eight years ago.
“Dito ay kailangan kong magmukhang more mature, so I grew facial hair and it worked for my benefit naman because this look which I sported for Ato’s film won me roles in four other movies, as well as yung stage play nga ng Grindhouse Productions for PETA,” wika ni Lance.
“Bale, katatapos ko lang gawin iyong Babang Luksa, isa itong psycho thriller at yung Aninag by action director Francis Jun Posadas.
“Plus yun ngang movie ni Direk Ato. And I’m now filming Romy Suzara’s Tinik for Sineng Pambansa.
“So, I took all these new opportunities as a sign from heaven that I definitely should stick around in this business. And for the record, my ex-girlfriend and I remain on good terms,” dagdag pa niya.
Bale, pinapa-block-off sa akin ang August to October this year.
“Dito bale ang shooting, kasi ang movie is about an Indian who moved here in the Philippines, so yung buhay nila rito ang ipapakita.
“Hindi ko pa alam ang role ko, ‘coz I auditioned also for the Indian role, yung half Indian-Pinoy.
Kuwento pa niya, “Iyong isa pa is a co-prod between Europe-Japan-America…
“The cast will include a Japanese superstar and a French movie actress, plus a Hollywood cinematographer with a long list of hits under his name.
“Iyong role ko is the assassin-apprentice of the Japanese lead star.
I’m part of the line-up, guest performer ako rito.”
“I wanna be able to represent Pinoys internationally and make my country proud.
“Now that I have the opportunity care of the Bollywood project at itong isa pang international movie, I vow to do my very best and be world-class while maintaining our uniqueness as Pinoys!
I hope to make more films around the world. Of course, I want to eventually go back to Pinoy TV and make another teleserye,” panalangin niya.
“GOODBYE, LONG HAIR.”
“Very serious ako as an actor, one hundred percent commitment lagi.
“When I receive a script, I read the whole thing ASAP, memorize the lines as early as possible, know and feel the character, so that on the first day of shooting, wala nang cramming.
“I’m never late. I always arrive an hour before call time, I learned this from Rannie [Raymundo] and my Mom Nina Zaldua.
“As far as characterization, I think of myself as a blank canvas and the director is the painter.
“For example, sa movie ni Direk Mario, I played Emilio Aguinaldo. The set stylist did all sorts of magic to make my hair resemble Aguinaldo’s, coz I was sporting long hair pa that time, e.
“So, iyong long hair ko, ‘boom!’ biglang nawala.
“As far as gay characters, I have nothing against it at all.
“Portraying a gay character is not different from portraying other roles, because it’s just another character given to us and as actors, it’s our job to do our best to portray it well.
“I actually played a gay character once in an episode of Wish Ko Lang. I played a college professor who got infected with HIV.
“To answer your question, what I’m honestly not ready to do is a gay love scene... as I’m not comfortable with it and I fear that the story the director is trying to tell won’t be given the proper justice it deserves.
“But hindi lang love scene o kissing sa kapwa lalaki, kahit na babae pa iyong ka-eksena ko, hindi ko rin tatangapin iyong project if it also involves certain acts that I’m not comfortable with either.
“It’s our job as serious actors to only subject ourselves to things where we can give our best work.
“We are being paid to sell the movie, right? So, it’s our responsibility to give the producers their money’s worth.
“It would be very selfish of me to accept a role knowing I’ll probably lower the quality of the movie—simply because it would make me richer or more famous.
“I respect this job too much to make it merely a milking cow or a ladder to fame,” paglilinaw pa ni Lance.
“I have a love scene with Althea Vega in Babang Luksa and I also have a love scene in Aninag with newcomer KC Miller, isa siyang German-Pinay model.
“I’m happy naman being an actor but with regards to singing, I still book lots of corporate shows, out of the country and out-of-town shows.
“And I sing mostly popular radio hits or whatever songs the client requests for.
“About the album... it’s on hold indefinitely.
“Actually, I tried to release it under a mainstream label. But then, since the WolfSound CD was a collection of songs which I composed with full artistic freedom, that’s why I called it WOLF [Wonders Of Living in Freedom] sound.
“Maybe the label finds some of the music not radio-friendly enough, so they tried to re-arrange most of the songs. But in the end, nawala na yung actual feel na gusto ko for it, e.
“So, maghihintay na lang ako ng right timing para sa album and good opportunity rin ito para mas makapag-focus ako sa acting.” pagtatapos na kuwento ni Lance.
