Angel Locsin pleads with both her fans and Marian Rivera’s to stop the hating

Actresses Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera have always been pitted against each other by die-hard fans, who have conjured a rivalry between the two female stars. In an interview, Angel sets the record straight: “Sa amin kasi wala kaming issue. Wala kaming away. Siguro… parang naging aloof kami sa isa’t isa kasi laging nako-compare.”

Early this month, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera, A-list actresses pitted by fans against each other, were made to work together in the September cover of fashion magazine Rogue.

While the two were photographed with other stars—Judy Ann Santos, Anne Curtis, Charlene Gonzalez—it was the meeting between Angel and Marian that was highlighted after behind-the-scene photos and mock covers of the shoot began circling the Net.

As they always do, die-hard fans of the two actresses exchanged nasty comments on social networking sites "in defense” of their respective idols.

On his Instagram account, photographer Mark Nicdao posted a photo of Angel and Marian with the caption “ROGUEMAG NOTE: it’s clear your idols are okay. Stop the hating. . Ur negative vibe is not welcome here. NO TROLLING HERE.”

In a visit made to the set of Toda Max yesterday, September 17, at Studio 10 of ABS-CBN Network, Angel recounted her experience with working with Marian.

The In The Name of Love star told the press how she arrived on the location of the shoot and found Marian chatting with a few people.

It was the first time that Angel would see the GMA-7 actress again since Angel’s transfer to ABS-CBN.

Angel narrated how she approached Marian, tapped her arm, and softly told her, “Kailangan natin mag-usap.”

Marian laughed and said to Angel, “Oo nga, e!”

After which, the two hugged each other and found themselves chatting like friends during the entire shoot.

Angel mentioned one of the things Marian discussed with her: “Sabi nga niya na parang pagod na raw siya na lagi [kaming] kinu-compare sa isa’t isa. E, wala naman kaming issue, di ba?”

The award-winning actress said that contrary to the “rivalry” conjured by their fans, she and the Kapuso star have no history of an actual rift.

“Sa amin kasi wala kaming issue. Wala kaming away. Wala kaming…

She then pleaded with the fans to stop the hating.

Angel said Marian was “kalog,” “down to earth,” and “laging nakangiti.”

The actress also said that being in a shoot with Judy Ann, Anne, and Charlene was a unique experience.

“Masaya yung set namin.

The actress added that agreeing to do the shoot was a favor she did for celebrity stylist Pam Quiñones.

PROJECT WITH MARIAN. Asked if she and Marian are collaborating in a project in the near future, Angel said that that’s possible.

However, should the rivalry be manipulated and made bigger than the actual project, she would turn it down.
