Adam Levine and Lady Gaga seem to have clashed on Twitter.
Adam, the Maroon 5 singer, posted cryptic tweets on the social networking site, in which he blasted an anonymous star for "recycling old art" rather than producing original music.
He wrote: "Ugh..recycling old art for a younger generation doesn't make you an artist. It makes you an art teacher... I unabashedly love writing and performing pop music for both myself AND everyone around me. That's It. It doesn't need any extra sauce."
While he didn't name anyone, Lady Gaga—who became famous for the songs "Born This Way" and "Poker Face," among others—took offense with the tweets, and sent out a message to her own followers, seemingly in response to the "Moves Like Jagger" singer.
She said: "Uh oh guys the art police is here."
Lady Gaga might be justified in assuming she was the target of Adam's rage, given that her new music video features a number of famous works of art.
Adam isn't the only musician to accuse Lady Gaga of stealing from other works, with Madonna claiming "Born This Way" was a "redo" of her track, "Express Yourself."
Madonna said: "I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was... interesting."
