Sabi pa ng mang-aawit, “For 2014, I’m trying to do a lot of things, music-oriented, Internet-oriented, and out of music-oriented.”
WORKING ON THIRD ALBUM. Paliwanag ni Robin sa mga tinutukoy niyang projects, “With my music-oriented plans, I’m trying to release my third album.
"I’m starting a new band but it’s going to be an independent release.
“Because at the end of this month, I won’t be with PolyEast Records anymore.
"My contract is expiring and I don’t think they’ll be renewing me.
“I won’t get a record label. I wanna do it on my own, parang independently. I wanna know how it works.
“I did that before.
"My first album was released under a record label. My second album was released by myself.
"And the third album nga is going to be with a band and then I’ll release it myself again.”
“So, I’m going to do an album with friends, and we’re going to promote it as a band, not just Robin Nievera.
“I don’t know the name yet [of the band]. So, we’re going to do a third album.
"Hopefully it will come out in June and be released online.
Paliwanag niya sa pagri-release ng gagawing digital album, “Kasi yung logic ko, people download music anyway—even my first album.
"Royalties are very slow in this country.
“Although I wrote all the songs and produced it, parang it’s like I won’t earn from it as much as I would initially expect.
“As a consumer for music, I want my music to be free.
"Parang I’m trying to beat piracy per se by just giving it away myself. I don’t know how I’m gonna do it yet.
“But my second album, which I also released for free online, it obviously did better because I gave it away for free.”
“I don’t have a genre. I love music.
"I love listening to old, old music—blues, country, anything with the guitar. I like playing guitar.
"I don’t like listening to a lot of Broadway. I love Broadway, like, in my car. But it’s not in my iPod.
"In my iPod there’s rock, a little bit of Justin Timberlake. It’s mixes.
“So, the third album will be fun. Me, not trying to be a rock star or a singer-songwriter. It’s going to be fun.”
OTHER BUSINESS VENTURES.
Pagmamalaki niya, “I don’t wanna keep borrowing money naman from my parents.
"There were times siyempre when I was much younger, oo. But that wasn’t for business naman. For going out lang.”
“Not there yet,” paglinaw niya.
“The level where I’m at now is, I just wanna be me.
"No family yet, that’s far pa from me.
"I just want something I can hold and call mine, be it in the music industry or corporate, whatever.”
NO TO ACTING.
Natawa si Robin sa tanong at umaming, “I don’t like, e. Dancing and acting I don’t like.
"Hosting I can do. I still do every now and then sa Viva TV. Yung Daily Top Ten show nila.
“Their main host is Sam Pinto. Minsan, if she doesn’t make it, they call me. So, that’s not regular naman.
“I’m okay naman sa hosting, but my Tagalog is really bad. So, that is why they don’t call me every time.
“Acting talaga I never liked it. I like watching pero doing it, I don’t like.”
ON POPS AND MARTIN.
Napangiti si Robin at nagsabing, “They’re friends.”
Patuloy niya, “They’re still friends. That’s going to be a good thing, di ba?”
“You saw them, I wasn’t there during the start of their careers, di ba?" sagot naman ni Robin.
“But before they were a couple and before they got married, they were friends.
“In any relationship, if you guys are friends first, even after the marriage, the rough times will always come. But in the end you’re still friends.”
Napangiti ang 27-year-old musician at saka nagsalita, “Both my parents they wanna get married… I know that.
"That’s the last I heard. But I haven’t spoken to them [about the subject].
“When I say that, I say that years ago, they told me that.
"The last time, I know they didn’t wanna get married.”
“Well, I am. It’s their life. I’m not twelve [years old] anymore.”
