“Binusalan nila ang aking bibig at may nagsabi sa kin na huwag daw ako maingay dahil papatayin daw nila ako, mga anak ko at pamilya ko,” said Vhong Navarro in his sworn statement to the National Bureau of Investigation.
This March, YES! investigates the January 22 mauling incident involving the movie/TV star, which has since exploded into accusations of serious illegal detention against well-connected businessman Cedric Lee and rape from pretty model-stylist Deniece Cornejo.
Deniece claimed in her complaint-affidavit, “Kuya Vhong pinned me down to the bed and was kissing me all over while I kept kicking, shouting and trying to get myself free from him.
“Kuya Vhong again roughly pulled at my hair with one hand while pulling own his pants and underwear with the other.
"Kuya Vhong was already completely on top of me, half-naked and he tried to unzip my shorts but it wouldn’t budge because it was jammed or stuck…”
Cedric, on the other hand, insisted that he was just rescuing a friend from being raped.
In answer to the charges leveled against him, he said, “Why would I extort one million pesos from a Vhong Navarro, di ba?
"Sa daming koneksiyon ng taong ’yan, may mga kaibigang maimpluwensiyang tao… may mga kaibigan ’yang senador…
"Saka bakit ako magi-extort? Sa lahat, sa kanya pa?
"I don’t need to resort to that kind of raket para kumita ng pera. I’m a legitimate businessman."
YES! pieces together the story on what supposedly happened on the night of January 22, 2014, in a comprehensive report based on exclusive interviews, complaint sheets, sworn statements, police blotters, CCTV footages, condominium logbooks, a medico-legal certificate, SEC papers, and social media posts.
Also in this month’s issue, social media’s first family—Chesca Garcia, Doug Kramer, and their children Kendra, Scarlett, and Gavin—lets YES! inside their three-story home filled with “beautiful noise.”
What makes this family click?
Chesca says, “We noticed that a lot of people are interested in our family, they like our family style.
“They like how we are, I guess.
"How we are when we wake up in the morning.
"You know, we’d take our picture as is, there are no pretensions.”
