Julia Barretto insists that she and Julian Estrada were never a couple; bandies herself as certified NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth)

Young Kapamilya star Julia Barretto gets sage advice from her estranged parents Dennis Padilla and Marjorie Barretto. "Mahalin mo ang sumusuporta sa ’yo kasi parte sila ng journey mo... You can be the best actress pero kung masama naman ang ugali mo, wala ka ring mapupuntahan," Julia shares.

Julia Barretto enumerated the qualities that she is looking for in a guy and then she warned.

"It’s nice to be courted," said the young girl, but watch out as she also described herself as a certified NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth).

As she revealed at the press conference of her launching teleserye Mira Bella last Tuesday night, March 18, at the ABS-CBN compound, here are the qualities that Julia finds endearing in a guy:

"Dapat masaya siya kasama.

"Dapat accepted ka niya.

"Dapat he makes you laugh.

"Dapat he likes to eat as much as you do.

"Dapat adventurous like you, may respeto for you, may respeto sa pamilya."

As the 17-year-old actress is being linked to Julian Estrada, the teenage son of Senator Jinggoy Estrada and Precy Ejercito, the obvious question was: Does he meet her requirements?

She clarifies, "He was and is still my good friend, but we were never together.

"Never naging kami.

"Wala pa akong love especially with my busy schedule."

And she has no suitors either, "Wala nga, actually parang hindi na uso yun, e."

ADVICE FROM MOM AND DAD. Julia, the daughter of showbiz personalities Marjorie Barretto and Dennis Padilla, will star in the fantaserye Mira Bella that will begin airing on March 24.

She said with her bedimpled smile that she also gets reminders from her parents, "As much as possible, huwag raw muna.

"Tama naman sila, enjoy lang."

How often does she see her father, Dennis?

"I last saw him last month for his birthday, wala kasing agreement or anything.

"Biglaan lang, ’Let’s go out!’

"Pero I still see my dad.

"My dad tells me, ’Mahalin mo ang sumusuporta sa ’yo kasi parte sila ng journey mo. Magpasalamat ka sa kanila kasi without them, you won’t be where you are now.’"

She said her best advice was from her mom Marjorie, "Kailangan mabait at mabuti ka sa lahat.

"You can be the best actress pero kung masama naman ang ugali mo, wala ka ring mapupuntahan."

ON HER CONTROVERSIAL AUNTS. How does she handle the comparison to her aunts Gretchen and Claudine Barretto?

Julia sighed, "Coming from a family of actresses, the expectations are so high.

"Expected nila na magiging kasing galing ko sila kaagad."

Julia however has her directors and co-workers who prop her up "and understand you’re just starting and there’s a lot of time to improve."

Recently, Gretchen posted the P60,000 bail for Dessa Patilan, the former personal assistant of Claudine.

The P.A. landed in jail after Claudine accused her of committing qualified theft.

When Julia was asked for her reaction on the issue, she exclaimed, "I don’t know this, I wish I could answer that but I don’t know."

According to her, the controversy is never on the table when she gets together with her aunt.

"When we’re together, we’re all so positive that we just eat and we have fun.

"We share the good things in life rather than dwell on the problems.

"Tita Gretchen ko pa, alam mo naman, masayahin yun.

"As she would say, ’Life goes on.’"
