Lahad ni Donita, “I left my last show Umagang Kay Ganda... when I was still there, I kinda felt like I wanted to re-invent myself.
"Because I have such a passion for food, nag-aral ako ng culinary arts. I don’t know if everybody knows that or not.
"When it was time for me to do my thesis... that’s when I decided to leave the show.”
Saad niya, “I tried to get work, medyo nahirapan ako because of certain technicalities.
"Then I returned to the Philippines but hindi ako masyadong active sa showbiz noon.
“Nagtrabaho ako sa Crown Plaza Manila and Holiday Inn, so magkatabi sila. I stayed for six months.”
Aniya, “I wanted something that had a culinary aspect and then I was offered this job.
"Three weeks later, I flew to Manila. I’ve been here for almost two weeks na. I only just found out na yung focus ng show is not just culinary, it’s a variety talk show with some cooking.
"They just said, ‘Basta everything happy,’ and I was like ‘What? I don’t really get it.’ Until we started taping and I was really blown away by the script writers, the researchers and everything.
“Very particular ako, I wanna be professional and I’m a perfectionist. I would say, ‘So what segments do we have on the show?’
“Sabi nila, ’Ma’am kasi iba-iba, e, it’s not specific, but it’s something totally different.’
"It’s something very revolutionary for television, especially morning TV.
"So we’re just overwhelmed and excited for this and we hope na magustuhan po ninyo.”
