Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez all praises for son Raymund’s girlfriend Gwen Zamora

Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez on son Raymund’s girlfriend, Gwen Zamora: “I already met Gwen and I find her such a sweet and lovely person.

Pahayag niya, “No one will be left behind.

“Yolanda did not devastate the spirit and the hearts of Taclobanons. With the grace of God, Tacloban and our people are on the rise again.

“The city government is acquiring lands through purchase or expropriation to relocate to transitional shelters with the aid of international agencies.

“We are hoping that the government will soon fulfil its commitment to purchase more land so the permanent settlement sites could be completed at the soonest time.”

Detalye pa niya, “The international agencies and government offices involved in livelihood development are being tapped to provide assistance and grants to ensure the relocated families will have a source of revenue through organic farming, fisheries and other income generated activities.

“Leaving no one behind means making sure the people’s lives becomes better.”

STILL REBUILDING TACLOBAN. Ang kanyang misis naman na si Cristina ay ginawang Ambassador of Habitat for Humanity. At bilang First Lady of Tacloban City at Ciy Councilor, ginagawa rin nito ang kanyang trabaho para sa promotion of livelihood for women and young folk.

“That is why we are not thinking of the election dahil for the last few months, ang Tacloban ang focus naming mag-asawa.

“Kaya it’s a sacrifice sa amin ni Cristina to be away from our kids, who are now studying in Manila, kasi committed kaming dalawa to serve and make sure na naasikaso namin ang aming mga constituents.

“Aside sa temporary shelters, we are also trying to build up a livelihood for them. Yung magkaroon sila ng trabaho.

“Mabuti na lang na marami nang nagbukas na mga businesses sa Tacloban and that will be a big help sa maraming Taclobanons.

“As for 2016, we are just praying for that.

“We don’t want to be ahead of everything. I am just thankful that Tacloban is recovering kahit na paunti-unti,” ngiti pa ni Mayor Alfred.

Nag-propose din si Mayor Alfred ng isang permanent government agency na mag-o-operate 24/7 for 365 days a year para hindi na raw maulit ang nangyaring trahedya sa Tacloban City.

“What we in Tacloban and the nearby areas went through should teach us to prepare. By proposing a permanent government agency that will operate round-the-clock for the whole year, maiiwasan ang ganitong mga problema.

“The NDRRMC [National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council] only convened three days before any potential typhoon occurs.

“We need to be build stronger and be prepared for anything because Yolanda is already the new norm. And we cannot afford a repeat of the devastation it created,” diin niya.

DAUGHTERS JOINING SHOWBIZ?

I don’t know how it works because iba ang mundo na pinanggalingan ko.

“Kung sinuman ang may alam diyan, that is my wife. When I met Cristina, she was already out of showbiz. She entered my world and it all came together beautifully.

“In regards to our kids joining showbiz... I don’t know... wala pa naman akong nararamdaman na gusto nilang mag-showbiz.

“My eldest Sofia, she sings very well. Who would ever think na yung malakas na pag-iyak niya noon—that you can hear a few meters away—is a sign that she will be a good singer someday.

Kaya wala pa akong worries that they will soon be in showbiz,” ngiti pa niya.

ON RAYMUND-GWEN RELATIONSHIP.

Ayon kay Mayor Alfred, “I already met Gwen and I find her such a sweet and lovely person.

“Very positive and wala naman akong naririnig na may problema sila or may pinag-aawayan sila ng matindi.

“It’s a good sign because it means that they are on their way to a good and lasting relationship.

“I’m looking forward to that day when my son will tell me that he has found the one—the woman he will eventually end up with to be his wife.”
