“I’m still trying to catch up on lost sleep para maka-recover.
“Talagang it was, I think, the most exhausting blind audition process we had. Much more tiring than season 1 or even with the [The Voice] Kids.
“We have more people auditioning for us than we did in season 1.
“We have more people auditioning for us for The [Voice] Kids. And I think because in season 2 yung mga pandinig namin parang nagle-level up. Parang it has to be better than the previous season.
“We cannot accept very good. We have to accept exceptional. We have to accept great and minsan yung mga exceptional na yun, we find them in some of the most raw and you know, yung mga hindi nahahasa sa gig.
“And we have people who are so hasang-hasa sa mga gig, who don’t like, float to the top.
“So, yeah, it’s the process that can be frustrating. It’s a process that can be very exhausting.
LONDON TRIP. Pagkatapos ng blind auditions ni Lea for The Voice season 2 ay nakatakda naman siyang pumunta ng London.
“I have to head to London. I have like… visas kasi that I can only get from there. The stuff that I need to get from the Philippines nakuha ko. So I kinda have to be there for a week,” kuwento ni Lea
Gaano siya katagal mawawala?
Sabi niya, “I have to be back kasi for the battle round ng The Voice. I’m back, first or second week of November.”
“Oh my God, yes!” bulalas niya.
“I already have my tickets and I’m watching a bunch of other Western shows but for sure, the Cameron Macintosh office has already set aside tickets for me. So I’m excited!
“I’m going to cry when I see Rachelle Ann Go.
“So, it’s going to be a very, very exciting time. Plus, there were shows na talagang ginawa kong London ang destino para lang to see them.”
“Bigla silang kabahan?
“Sana naman hindi, ‘no? Kasi I wanna see as many great shows as I possibly can.
“Kung kabahan naman sila tapos nagkalat? Kawawa, yung show yung kawawa. So, huwag naman sana.
They opened in May and it’s now September, so malamang I’m going to get the show that audiences in the West End have been enjoying,” kampante niyang pahayag.
HAPPY FOR RACHELLE ANN.
Pagmamalaki niya, “I know she’s getting so much recognition. It’s wonderful!
“It’s wonderful for her to show that, that’s how talented this girl is.
“Ideally, it’s just, comfort level.
“Kasi I look into somebody’s eyes, e, minsan ako I get very, naba-barrier ako.
“And because with him, I have done two films, and film is not a medium in which I’m comfortable [in].
“Not like being on stage, not like being on TV, iba, e. On film, it’s different. I’m not in my comfort zone. I’m not in a very secure place. And he is, ideally.
“I look at him and I feel secure. I can look at him and whatever na tapon niya, if there is something wrong he can tell me it’s wrong, we can do it again,” she explained.
Pakli niya, “No, not for me. I’m sorry. But he’s got to do something first.”
STAR AWARDS. Bukod sa Lifetime Achievement na natanggap ni Lea sa Star Awards for Music, ginawaran din siya ng Female Concert Artist of the Year award para sa concert niyang Playlist.
Anong naramdaman niya bilang Lifetime Achievement awardee at pagkakapanalo niya bilang Female Concert Artist of the Year?
“Uhm, I was very touched that the PMPC chose me to get the Pilita Corrales Lifetime Achievement award from the Star Awards and it was just something really, really, sweet that the lifetime of my career has been recognized.
“Pero parang feeling ko and I said this on stage also, am I not too young to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award? Am I not supposed to have a degree first before that happens?
“Uhm, but it’s nice na nakuha rin and also, it’s additionally inspiring ’cause the lifetime is not over and so hopefully, there will still be more... to come.”
SECOND AWARD.
“Nagulat ako kasi the list of awardees was like, ‘Okey, medyo grace yata eto. Sarah is there, ah and all of these other concert performers na babae. It’s like, ‘Ano ‘to?’ Hahaha!
“Everybody had like, put up some excellent work this year. So, I really didn’t know which way it was going to go. The concert category is very, very exciting and you scream.
“Even if you won’t win, you’ll scream, because the concerts were all so good.
“I mean, Arise [Gary V concert] was, I didn’t see it, but it was like, paulit nang paulit that’s how good it was.
“And you know, I guess, I find Sarah’s concert and it was like, ’Oh, my gosh!’ The concert categories are too amazing,” pagtatapos ni Lea.
