Although it’s been a while since they broke up, Sheena Halili admitted that she still felt awkward during her first taping day with ex-boyfriend Rocco Nacino.
The 27-year-old actress happens to be the latest addition to the cast of GMA Network’s primetime series Hiram Na Alaala, topbilled by Dennis Trillo, Kris Bernal, Lauren Young, and Rocco.
Sheena will play the role of Yasmin, a provincial lass who’ll eventually get close to Joseph, who's portrayed by Rocco.
“Meron siyempreng awkwardness. Minsan nabubulol pa nga ako.
"Siyempre, hindi mo naman maiiwasan yun. Ayoko naman magpaka-plastic na wala,” she began.
PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Sheena at her solo presscon for Hiram Na Alaala last Friday, September 26.
Despite the initial awkwardness, Sheena maintained that she has no problem working with Rocco since he’s very “professional” on and off cam.
As for their romantic history, Sheena revealed that they had a chance to clear the air between them after their breakup in March 2013.
“Nagkaroon naman [ng closure]. Nagkausap kami after na [ng breakup]. Ang tagal na. After eight months. Parang ganun.
“Ako naman, yun pa lang, okay na yun.
“At saka, hindi kasi ako yung taong gustung-gustong pinag-uusapan yung past.
“So, nung nagkita kami, wala na yun. Okay na yun,” she reiterated.
Sheena also seemed genuinely happy for Rocco, who’s currently in a relationship with fellow Kapuso star Lovi Poe.
But when prodded to share any advice towards Lovi, Sheena maintained that she’s not in the position to do such thing.
“Ayoko na. Huwag na ako magbigay ng advice.
"‘Wag na ako makialam. Kany- kanya na 'to.
“Happy naman ako na happy din sila together.
"Ako rin naman, may ibang buhay na rin.”
Apparently, Sheena’s entertaining new suitors, including a non-showbiz guy that she seems particularly fond of.
“Wala akong boyfriend. May masugid na manliligaw. Non-showbiz, finally!” she beamed.
Although she refused to give details about the guy, except for the fact that he’s a “businessman.”
“Naku! E, di nalaman na niya. Basta special. Siya yung pinakamasugid.”
When it comes to her ideal guy, Sheena shared that it’s important to her for them to share the same values.
“Gusto ko sana Christian [yung religion]. Pero siyempre, hindi ko naman kinu-close yung door ko.
“Wala naman yun dun, e. Yun na lang pine-pray ko kay God. Sana,” she said.
