Jim Paredes scoffs at online death threat

Following his posts about Vice President Jejomar Binay, Jim Paredes received a death threat last October 23 through his Facebook account.

“Maaga yata ang Halloween ko. Two days ago, I received a Trick or Threat. LOL”

REPORTED TO AUTHORITIES.

“To everyone, thanks for your concern about my safety. A few things:

"1) I am very much alive and not the least afraid.

"2) I am not linking Rex Vincent Tecon (AKA Rex Bentulan Tecson) to any politician. As far as I am concerned, his threat against me was something he alone made and not on behalf of anyone. He has his own political leanings and photos with some personalities but I don’t think that is relevant here.

"3) I went to the police because threats of death or injury online should be taken seriously.

"4) Lastly, we may all argue and be poles apart and may even have heated discussions about issues, but the moment insults and threats enter the picture, that’s the time we lose all civility. I would rather block you than continue.”

Sa isang quick research kung sino itong si Rex Vincent Tecon o Rex Bentulan Tecson, ipinakilala niya ang sarili bilang “Lawyer, Civil Engineer, and Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of the Philippines” sa Twitter.

“Again. Mr. @jimparedes You are NOT BANNED from Filing Case against this Prime Minister. You r like Filing Case against Prof. @JoseMariaSison”

Base rin sa nasabing post, nakiusap si Paredes kay Tecson na kumawala na sa kanyang mundo and to “come to terms with the real world.”

“You are NOT a PRIME MINISTER of the Socialist Republic of the Philippines. There is no such country. You are also not a political adviser of PNoy. In fact you tweeted twice that you wanted the President dead. You are a confused young man who probably needs some help. Please do so before you get into more trouble.”
