“My biggest reason? For more opportunities.“
This is Iya Villania’s reply when asked about her main reason for going back to GMA Network.
Iya was with the Kapuso network from 2002 to 2004 then moved to ABS-CBN, where she stayed for 10 years.
Iya was a mainstay on ASAP and Myx, from 2004-2014, before returning to GMA.
“I had to leave Myx ’cause I got married,” she said.
Iya married TV host Drew Arellano last January 31, 2014.
MARRIAGE AND CAREER. Iya revealed her plans for the next two years in an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) last November 5, at the Versace Jeans Fall/Winter 2014 launch at Shangri-La Plaza, Shaw Boulevard.
She said, “Drew and I plan to have kids after two years, so in the next two years, I just wanna do what I can, while I can.”
Iya already appeared in a Sunday All Stars performance recently and has a number of potential projects lined up.

“They’ve [GMA] mentioned a soap, they’ve mentioned lifestyle, reality, hosting.
"Let’s just wait and see what materializes and I’ll keep you updated."
She also clarified that there’s no grudge or bitterness with ABS-CBN brought about by her transfer to GMA.
“Of course, no bridges were burned; everything was done in good terms.
"It was a clean exit.
"And it was all cleanly done, it was a sad goodbye, of course, and I’ll always be grateful for what they’ve done for me.
"I just wanted to use the next two years to explore and just make the most out of the two years that I don’t have a family yet."
Speaking of family, Iya also wants to make the most out of her newlywed life with Drew, whom she only started living with after their marriage.
“We plan to start trying in 2016.
"Because Drew and I have only just gotten married, we’ve only started living together.
"And with that alone, there’s still so much more to enjoy between just the two of us.
“Kaya we also wanna travel, just adjusting to living together, just all of that.
"Ayaw muna namin ng pressure of having a baby ‘cause we know that once we have a child, priorities really will change, and we won’t be able to enjoy this as much as we would now.”
Iya mentioned that she and Drew enjoy a lot of activities together such as working out, while they still don’t have many family responsibilities.
"Sometimes we run together, we bike together, or we do strength training together, core training, mga ganun."
