Donita Rose turns 40; grateful for another chance in showbiz

Forty is the new 14. That’s what I’ve been trying to tell myself.”

Ano ba ang wish niya sa kanyang 40thbirthday?

Tugon niya, “You know what, I feel that parang… kasi, ’di ba, you get sentimental when your birthday comes along?

"I just don’t wanna close my eyes, kasi when I close my eyes, iiyak ako.

"So, of course, yung current wish ko lang naman is sana makarating ang asawa ko ngayon, for Christmas and my birthday.”

Saad ng actress-TV host, “When I was in the States, I enjoyed every single minute of it.

"Although marami kaming pinagdaanan na trials, we moved in to my mom’s house, we shared the house together with my family.

"And usually, that’s not the best idea in the world, especially after everyone has their own families, so we encountered a lot of trials.

“But there’s a lot of things… parang there’s a chapter in my life that I had to close because meron talaga akong heart for my family.”

Dagdag pa niya, “So, when we got together again, it wasn’t all that I had intended it to be. We had a lot of fights and stuff.

"But along the way, I’ve realized that it had to happen because it made me realize a lot of things.

“It made me realize where my heart should be, where my loyalties lie.

"Sometimes kasi, kahati mo yung puso mo sa family mo at saka sa asawa mo at anak.

"But that’s not the way it supposed to be.

"Parang when you get married, your heart should be completely devoted to your husband.

“I learned a lot of valuable lessons along the way, it really matured me a lot.

"And working in a kitchen, like, paying you 16 dollars an hour… it’s funny... whether you make millions or 16 dollars an hour, it was the same for me.”

"And then, coming back to the Philippines and you earn well again, you don’t take that for granted anymore.

"Now, natuto na akong mag-save. Kasi parang dati, it goes in and out."
