Joey Marquez acquitted in "overpriced ammunition" graft case, says Sandiganbayan

“What we were expecting was for justice to be served. We prayed for it. It also showed na yung magpepeke, ‘di magsa-succeed," says Joey Marquez following the acquittal of his graft case involving alleged purchase of overpriced ammunition during his tenure as Parañaque City mayor.

Sabi rito, “Although administrative lapses may have occurred, through negligence, in the execution of documents supporting the three Disbursement Vouchers, conviction in these cases would nonetheless be unwarranted due to the failure of the prosecution to prove all the essential elements of the offense charged.”

“What we were expecting was for justice to be served. We prayed for it.

“As a matter of fact, sabi ko nga, e, kami yung pineke, e.

“We don't have to prove anything because we don't know of anything that's happened.

“It also showed na yung magpepeke, ‘di magsa-succeed,” saad ng actor/ex-mayor.
