Alma Concepcion’s camp issues final demand letter to Dody Puno for child support

"Dear Mr. Puno,

"We write on behalf of our Client, Cobie Puno as represented by his mother Ms. Alma Concepcion, regarding your refusal to provide sufficient child support.

"Records and information turned over to our Firm show that you have stopped remittance of adequate support for Cobie since September 2014.

"Records also show that the ownership of your assets and possession of your resources have been structured: 1. in ways that deliberately conceal your capacity and intended to avoid your responsibility to support Cobie as, evidenced, among others, by the structure of RPRP Ventures, your other real estate holdings, and your other assets; 2. in schemes that disfavor sufficient support for Cobie while rendering disproportionate favor to the other children, and; 3. through machinations that violate your legal obligation under Section 3 of Republic Act 9262, which categorizes economic abuse of minor children as a punishable criminal offense.

"We take this last opportunity to remind you of your legal duty to provide said child support according to Articles 194, 201 and 202 of the Family Code in a manner that is in proportion to your resources and means as a father and according to the necessities of your child. Our Client does not wish to engage in a protracted litigation with regard to the issue of child support and implores upon your sense of duty and responsibility as a father to your son. We have previously invited you to join us in discussing a possible amicable settlement of the matter, but our appeal for negotiation has been ignored. Accordingly, if you still fail to comply with this final demand for you to fulfill your legal obligation to support your minor son, our Client will be constrained to exhaust all criminal, civil, and/or administrative remedies to protect our Client’s rights and enforce his interest.

"We trust you will see your way clear through the matter to avoid costly and protracted litigation."
