Angelu de Leon explains why she has not yet seen last episode of Growing Up: "Kasi, alam ko, magbi-breakdown ako."

Angelu de Leon says she can’t watch yet the last episode of her 1998 TV program Growing Up. “Siguro yun yung hurt ko in a sense na not just because of what I did, but it’s because of what I did to people part of Growing Up. Parang I didn’t have the courage before to apologize to them, I didn’t have the courage to… parang that time kasi, when I left, it was all just full of pride. Parang

Saad niya, “Okay, this is the trivia... do you know that until today, I haven’t seen the last episode of Growing Up?

“I couldn’t get myself to watching it...

“Siguro yun yung hurt ko, in a sense na, not just because of what I did, but it’s because of what I did to people part of Growing Up.

“Parang I didn’t have the courage before to apologize to them.

"I didn’t have the courage to… parang that time kasi, when I left, it was all just full of pride.

“Parang ganun, parang umalis ako dahil, ‘Kaya ko to, paninindigan ko ‘to, paninidigan ko yung ginawa ko.’ Ganyan!”

“Not just the people around me doing Growing Up, the actors, the staff, the directors, the writers and everyone, but the fans that loved the show.

“But if and when I’m given the chance to…

"I was able to say sorry to Bob, Direk Mark [Reyes, director of TGIS and Growing Up], to the people involved, and siyempre to the fans.

“Pero hindi ko siya mapanood kasi, alam ko, magbi-breakdown ako, because it’s not that I wanted to leave, it’s just that because of the situation I had to leave.

“Parang it’s leaving… it’s leaving something you love so much.

"But as much as you don’t want to leave, you have to."

BOBBY EXPRESSES SUPPORT.

Sagot ng aktor at MTRCB board member, “When she left kasi, I felt that it would be unfair for me to blame her kung masira man yung loveteam o hindi.

“Kasi, I respected the choice she made na she chose what she thought what was right at that time.

"I respected that, e, kasi, like for me, during that time, pag sinabi sa ‘kin ng manager ko na gawin mo ‘to, gagawin ko, di ba?"

Saad pa ni Bobby, “Nakita ko yung strength ng babaeng ito na, ‘Wala kaming pakialam what other people would say, I will do what I think is right, what I think is good for me, and I will follow that.’

“And that’s what she did.”

Pagpapatuloy naman ni Angelu, “Kasi nga, nung part na ‘yon ng Growing Up, na we were doing the episode already, I was pregnant.

“And then, parang dumating yung choice na, ‘Do you wanna continue the pregnancy, or you wanna continue the show?’”

Pahayag ng 35-year-old actress, “Para naman sa akin, I mean, not for anything, I’m not gonna judge anyone, but I cannot do an abortion.

"So, I had to do that... na parang that thing na I would be bold enough to admit right away that I was pregnant.

“Siyempre, parang lahat sila, ‘Ha? Si Bobby [ang ama]?!’ [Ang sagot ko,] ‘Hindi po.’

“It was really hard, but I think that choice I made was for the good of my soul."

“Pero still, parang at that time, I just handled it differently.

“Siguro if I handled it with more humility and with more compassion towards other people, it would have been a different scenario, parang it would have been maybe easier.

“Pero kasi, I handled it with so much pride.

“Which is nakakalimutan ng tao na, I think, if more than anything, if you’ve committed a mistake, it’s to humble yourself first, then you become stronger.”
