Albie Casiño returns to ABS-CBN; says no to lovelife for now

Albie Casiño is thrilled with his comeback to ABS-CBN via the upcoming primetime teleserye On The Wings Of Love, topbilled by James Reid and Nadine Lustre (JaDine).

“I’m shooting On The Wings of Love with ABS-CBN right now.

“So, yeah, I feel a lot of emotions—excited, nervous—you know, just all of that.

"I just can’t wait for the show to come out," said Albie. (Philippine Entertainment Portal) caught up with Albie at YES! Magazine’s 15th anniversary party held at Crowne Plaza Hotel last Monday night, July 27.

The 22-year-old actor admitted that he is overwhelmed to be facing the entertainment media, as well as other colleagues, after taking a break from showbiz for several months.

He previously starred in two TV5 series: Confessions of A Torpe (2014) and Cassandra: Warrior Angel (2013).

HAPPY TO BE BACK IN ABS-CBN. Asked if he signed an exclusive contract with ABS-CBN this time around, Albie clarified that he’s just working on On The Wings On Love for now.

“As of now, I’m pretty sure I only signed a contract for the show,” he beamed.

It’s been four years since he last starred in the Kapamilya network’s now-defunct teleserye Mara Clara (2010-2011) opposite Kathryn Bernardo.

Albie was supposed to be paired again with Kathryn in the weekly series Growing Up (2011), but he was replaced by then showbiz newcomer Daniel Padilla.

It will be recalled that Albie got involved in a controversy with ex-girlfriend Andi Eigenmann, who named him as the father of her then unborn child.

But Albie previously reiterated that there's no truth to Andi's claim.

After all these years, Albie said that he’s grateful to Dreamscape business unit head Deo Endrinal for giving him another chance to prove his worth as an actor.

He’ll be playing the role of Nadine’s boyfriend, Jigs, in On The Wings of Love.

“Gusto ko lang po magpasalamat kay Sir Deo 'tsaka sa Dreamscape na kinuha nila ulit ako.

“Nagtiwala po sila sa akin sa role na ‘to at malaki ang pasasalamat ko sa kanila.

“’Tsaka after that, sa fans ko na hindi ako iniwan kahit na hindi ako ganun ka-visible for four years.

"Maraming salamat po sa kanila. Pati sa fans ng JaDine na in-accept ako agad."

SINGLE STATUS. When asked about his lovelife, Albie said that he’s currently single by choice.

“Wala, e. Kinda busy with the show and school and all.

"Since 2013 or 2012 [akong walang girlfriend], tagal na rin, sobra!" he mused.

Albie had been in a relationship with former On The Job star Dawn Jimenez (a.k.a. Dawn Balagot).

They reportedly broke up because he didn’t approve of her love scene with Gerald Anderson in the said movie.

But despite his failed romantic relationships, Albie said that he’s not necessarily traumatized by love.

He further explained: “Hindi naman [ako napagod umibig].

"Nagkaro’n naman ako ng relationship after that one [with Andi].

“Pero, as of now, hindi naman ako nagmamadali.

“I’m twenty-two years old. Gusto ko muna maging single. Enjoy lang.

“Ayaw ko muna mag-isip ng ibang tao.

“Kasi kapag may relationship ka, ganun, e.

"Pag out of the country, may kailangan ka muna kausapin, ‘Ok lang ba sa ‘yo mawala ako ng ganito katagal?’

“Gusto ko lang muna maging free.”
