Wendell Ramos ecstatic over warm welcome by Kapamilya network

"Kung anong ibinigay sa akin ng ABS-CBN ngayon, big deal na sa akin yun," says Wendell Ramos, adding that he doesn't mind working freelance for now.

Wendell Ramos was officially launched as a Kapamilya in his solo presscon this Thursday, August 6.

The 36-year-old hunk actor told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other entertainment reporters that he signed a program contract with ABS-CBN for the afternoon teleserye Pasion De Amor.

“Oh yeah, definitely. Kung bibigyan ako ng network contract, mas maganda,” Wendell added when asked if he’s open to be an exclusive artist of ABS-CBN.

Wendell was a contract artist of GMA Network for 16 years before he transferred to TV5 in 2011. His contract with TV5 ended last year.

Asked if he’s okay with working as a freelance artist for now, Wendell stressed that what matters is for him to make the most out of the opportunities given him.

Wendell further told PEP: “Sa ganyang matter, hindi ko muna iniisip kung ano yung mas magiging pabor ako.

“Let’s say for a network contract or program contract lang. I don’t mind as long as mayroon akong show.

“Hindi ko rin sinasabi na nagwo-work ako nang freelance to work with other networks pa.

“I don’t have to burn bridges.

“Ang sa akin lang, kung anong ibinigay sa akin ng ABS ngayon, big deal na sa akin yun.

“It’s an honor, it’s a privilege na mabigyan ako ng [opportunity].”

He added, "It feels good na maging part ng Pasion de Amor at ng Kapamilya network."

At this point in his career, Wendell considers himself lucky to be fielding acting stints amidst the tough competition in showbiz.

As early as April of this year, Wendell was tapped to star in an episode of Kapamilya network’s weekly legal drama Ipaglaban Mo, together with Isabel Oli.

“Wala [akong kailangang pagpaalamanan na network].

"At that time, if I'm not mistaken, wala na akong commitment nun.

“It’s a good blessing. Sa dinami-dami ng artista, sa dinami-dami ng bata ngayon, still nandito tayo.

“Yun lang ang ibibigay ko—gagawin ko nang tama ang trabaho ko para sa lahat, para sa nagbibigay ng tiwala sa akin,” he beamed.

Early on his career, Wendell appeared in the now-defunct ABS-CBN shows Palibahasa Lalake and F.L.A.M.E.S.

"Sobrang tagal na [nung una kong ginawang shows dito].

"I feel great. You know naman na galing ako ng ibang network, but still, ito, ang nakakatuwa dito, it inspires me more dahil kini-claim ka na Kapamilya," he said.
