Jasmine Curtis-Smith reunites with ex-boyfriend Sam Concepcion in a stageplay

Jasmine Curtis-Smith on being probed about her past relationship with No Filter 2.0 alternate Sam Concepcion: “Well, you put two people who were together before in one show, people will ask what is happening. So, yun, I mean, you can’t avoid that.”

Sagot ng Kapamilya singer-actor, “When Toff called me, he said, ‘We have a rerun of No Filter and we’d like you to be a part of it.’

“And I said without thinking [that Jasmine is among the cast], I said, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’

“Because, first, I haven’t been in the theater stage for years now, and I watched the show, I watched the first run and I actually love it.

“And I remember talking to Toff afterwards that, ‘If you have something coming up, you can have me in it.’

“So, there, I wanted to do it, and I’m really, really excited to do it.”

Sabi ni Sam, “Well, I have the highest respect for her talent, and as I said I saw the show.

“So, I’m really excited to work with her and see her brilliance. She’s a great actress.”

Aniya, “Yeah, of course, ever since naman, we try to communicate as civil as possible. There’s no conflict between us.”

“I don’t know,” ang pareho lang nilang sabi.

JASMINE EXPLAINS FURTHER.

“But of course, it is something that we expected, not just me and Sam but the entire Sandbox Collective expected that.

“Well, you put two people who were together before in one show, people will ask what is happening.

“So, yun, I mean, you can’t avoid that.”

Patuloy ni Jasmine, “We’re both here to work on our craft and to perform the honest truth behind all these monologues that we’re trying to send out the message with.

“So, we prioritize that over any other drama that people might try to initiate or instigate.”

“Well, we have spoken before today. So, today was our first time to appear in a public event together.”

May awkwardness ba?

Sagot ni Jasmine, “I don’t think we can eradicate that in the situation, so, of course.”

“Well, I don’t think there really ever was [a wall].

SAM AS HER ALTERNATE.

“We had a discussion about it kasi.

“We just have to seal it down to whom we trust with such amazing material.

“And out of all the options we came up with, siyempre I know his talent, and I trust he can do it.”

“We haven’t got the chance yet to rehearse together kasi we just had our separate intensive workshops.

“Kasi everyone has to go through an intensive workshop for their monologues.

“Since I’ve done the show, I only need to do intensive once or twice, and he has to do a bit more because he has to learn all the monologues.

“So, wala pa kasi kaming all cast rehearsal.”

Sagot ni Jasmine, “Yeah, it’s essential.

“Professionally, you have to exchange notes and you have to ask each other for feedbacks, because that’s what your roles are as alternates.”

Isa si Sam sa mga bagong cast members ng No Filter 2.0 along with Paolo Valenciano and Carla Humphries.

Bukod kay Jasmine, kabilang din sa original cast na nagbabalik sa rerun sina Lauren Young, Saab Magalona-Bacarro, Mikael Daez, Micah Muñoz, Cai Cortez, Sarah Facuri, at Khalil Kaimo.
