Lea Salonga clarifies her "kababawan" Twitter post has nothing to do with AlDub

Chris D. Martinez, director: "Dear Lea, To answer your question: Hindi. We are a nation that needs entertainment like any other nation in the world. Bakit malalim ba ang The Voice? #sumasagotlangdinpo"

Mababaw man, napapasaya ang mga tao even for a few hours. Your happiness, your choice. There is no such thing as someone's BETTER happiness."

Iza Calzado: "I don't think she was referring to the Aldub thing. If you read her timeline she was still on her Heneral Luna mindset. What I mean is she was still talking about Heneral Luna and the movie industry."

LEA EXPLAINS.

@chateaudjeanne Just seeing some of the comments... obviously they didn't get it. Fun is good. We need it. But that can't be all there is.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@dare_to_tweet Wala akong tinatamaan sa tweet ko. Pag meron akong patama, mas diretso ako, wala akong tinatago. This is a midnight thought.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@qwinpea Maybe not. That you even responded without getting defensive says that you have depth in you.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@purestjoy The one quote from it that I like is (sorry if I get it wrong), "Bayan muna bago sarili." Something like that.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@joji30 Okay, reading about that nearly killed me. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh gooooooodneeeeeeesssssssssss. Damn nearly KILLED me.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@rodelavestruz The defensiveness was something I didn't expect. At all.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@LiezaPunsi Oh indeed. I haven't yet latched on to this newest phenomenon, but I have heard about it. Good for them and all they impart.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@FredRockz Hindi rin. We're talking rain puddle mababaw. Some of the deepest people are the most shallow in times of fun.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@FredRockz Oh trust, people with depth know how to have fun. I've seen quite a few of them really cut a rug (that means dance)

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@FredRockz Tumpak. We all need balance. All fun is bad. All depth is bad. We have to have a healthy helping of everything.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@may_appeal Actually, the trolls are being sent back under the bridges, where they belong.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@nuteleasings Just a general thing. All this AlDub, Pabebe, etc., that's terrific. But then I wondered, that can't be all we aspire to.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@gaucherive @MsGhailSilverio Oh we have our own kababawans at work. I end up laughing for no reason when it gets late at night.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

@gaucherive Or sa kalalim-laliman. Kataas-taasan didn't even enter my mind. #AskMunaBeforeJudging

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

For those of you that replied about BALANCE, you rock my world. That's what I was after. We all need fun, but that can't be all there is.

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

Uhmmm... I have no idea what's going on. Why did people assume I was tweeting about AlDub? I wasn't. I don't know about it. So why the hate?

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

Only now am I finding out that today was a significant day. I honestly had zero idea anything was going on! My tweet was pure coincidence!

— Lea Salonga (@MsLeaSalonga) September 26, 2015

So stop the hatred, the negative assumptions, whatever you're throwing at me. Just send me links so I know what the fuss is about.
