Aljur Abrenica maintained that there has never been a rivalry between him and fellow Kapuso star Alden Richards.
In the past, the two were often asked by the press if they ever get jealous about the projects being given to them by their home network.
Aljur said, “Hindi po. Wala pong katotohanan yun.
“We’re aware sa balitang ‘yan.
"Hindi natin maiwasan minsan yung when people idolize someone, hindi maiwasang kinukumpara nila, kinu-compete nila [yung preferred stars nila].
“Pero between me and Alden, we’re good.”
In fact, Aljur is vocal in saying that Alden deserves the successful career that he is enjoying right now.
The Dangwa star further explained, “I know Alden. I’ve worked with him.
“I’m very happy for him na finally nabigay yung karapat-dapat sa kanya.
“He’s a very disciplined man, a principled man.
“I’ve worked with him dalawang beses sa isang napakahirap na programa.
“So, nakita ko na siya [kung paano magtrabaho].”
According to Aljur, he last worked with Alden for an episode of Magpakailanman back in March 2014.
They didn’t get the chance to see each other since Aljur filed a termination of his contract against GMA Artist Center.
But Aljur still considers Alden a good friend.
“Yeah, we’re friends.
"Matagal na lang kaming hindi nagkikita kasi siguro naging busy na.
"Yung huling pagkikita namin, we’re good," Aljur reiterated.
The two were supposed to collaborate in the GMA Films’ Cain at Abel last year.
But the project didn’t push through because of Aljur’s ongoing case against the talent arm of GMA Network.
Asked if he’s open to work on the same project with Alden if given the chance, Aljur replied, “If prinesent sa akin ulit yung film na ibinigay sa amin dati ni Alden, I will reconsider, babasahin ko, pag-aaralan ko.”
