Saad niya, “I always knew that I would be coming home, I’m back for good, I’m happy to be back.
“Ano na ako, forty-four, mag-forty-five na ako, and I said, well, I want to come home.
“And there were certain incidents that happened also.
"Di ba, sometimes you get signs from the universe na, ‘Okay, eto na yung path.’
“There were certain things that happened kasi a few years with my job.
"That’s when you realize na maybe God has a different plan.
"It was the catalyst that got be thinking of moving back home.”
Ani Dindi, “Yes, this is my comeback movie, yung last film ko matagal na, I think 1999 pa.
“It was with Rosanna Roces and Christopher de Leon, yung Katawan.”
“I’ve always wanted to work with Sari, it’s a cameo role really.
“The main thing here, it’s really Nick Joaquin’s life story, so like Raymond [Bagatsing as Nick] is in every single scene.
“The cast is pretty big and we all have our own roles to fulfill, so mine is a cameo, but it’s memorable.”
“I did all this Imelda research also kahit sandali lang yung role, I wanted to understand also and build on that aura…
"She has this kind of presence also, e.”
Bongbong Marcos.
Ano ang reaksiyon ni Dindi rito?
“That was cute, I’m actually friends with the youngest one [Irene Marcos], and I told her, ‘Hey, I’m playing your mom.’
“And she said, ‘Really?’ I even didn’t tell her until later on, she just gave me a thumbs up on Facebook, too.
“So, parang approve lalo na yung look.”
LEAVING THE PHILIPPINES.
Saad niya, “I guess it was just my time to take a break because there was no project that really interested me that time, so I left.
“My family was in the US also, I thought it was the right time to leave because it was good for my soul.
“And I remember talking to my manager, si Nay Lolit, sabi ko, ‘Nay, aalis ako.’
“And then she said, ‘Anak, pag umalis ka, you can’t really leave and take a year off or two years off, mag-quit ka na lang.
“'Kasi you’re like really at the height of your career, it’s better to be remembered that way rather than nalaos ka, di ba?’”
“I worked also in films, but more on the production side, that’s why nagkainteres ako with directing.
“I also have like a few short films, that was where I met Direk Sari, in New York.
“In fact, coming back here, I either like to direct commercials or a film someday.”
MISSING FPJ.
“I got to work with a lot of actors. I know, it sounds cliché but FPJ, Tito Ronnie talaga, I really missed him.
“I love that film, siguro it’s one of my most memorable also… he was the one who wrote that.
“He was making me kuwento sa set, he loved that film.”
“I’m so happy. I mean, you know, it’s a project that would be great for TV.”
“Sometimes, siyempre sinilip ko, and it’s doing well, so I’m so happy for them also.”
“He’s a great actor. I saw him also before, I think it was Walang Hanggan, magaling din siya doon.
"I remember watching that back in the States because I’m a CharDawn [Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta] fan.
"And I heard they have a new teleserye [You’re My Home]."
