Daniel Padilla’s formal endorsement of Mar Roxas’s presidential bid in the 2016 elections drew mixed reactions from the Kapamilya star’s solid supporters.
It can be recalled that it was mentioned during PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal)'s forum early this week that Daniel would be endorsing a presidential candidate in the 2016 elections.
In his Twitter post this Friday, November 6, the 20-year-old actor reposted a YouTube video of his interview with former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas with the hashtag "#DanielMarpamore."
Titled as “traffic episode,” Mar speaks about the so-called “NLex-SLex [North Luzon Expressway-South Luzon Expressway] connector” as one of the solutions the government has come up with to address the daily heavy traffic in EDSA.
Shot at Daniel’s Quezon City home, it is said to be part of a series of videos, where the young actor quizzes Mar about various problems Filipinos are often faced with.
The video in question was uploaded by a YouTube user with a handle name "Carla Ford."
Carla Ford is the real name of Daniel's mom, Karla Estrada.
NETIZENS’ REACTION. But based on the comments from Daniel’s tweet, some netizens expressed their disapproval over the young actor’s decision to formally endorse a presidential candidate in the 2016 elections.
Some of Daniel’s followers stated that they wouldn’t mind supporting his commercial endorsements, but not necessarily his choice for the next president of the Philippines.
On the other hand, a number of fans assured Daniel of their all-out support, saying that they respect his decision to support Mar’s candidacy.
Daniel’s tweet, at press time, has garnered more than a thousand retweets and over 3,000 favorites.
