Sabi ni Maria sa PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), “There is no man in my life right now.
“I’m telling all those who interview me that I’m going to find somebody once I get here.
“I will be spending my first Christmas here in the Philippines, so I do hope I get that somebody before Christmas.
“I don’t want to spend Christmas alone!”
“The Philippines is now really like my second home.
“Everyone is so nice. I really like it here. I really do!
“Now I know it takes two hours to get to everywhere here.
“I actually like the weather here because in Japan, it’s so cold, and we only have three months of summer there.
“I also enjoy the food here, except for balut, I couldn’t handle. But everything else, I love,” sabi niya.
“I’m learning bits and pieces, like magandang umaga, magandang hapon, magandang gabi. They mean good morning, good afternoon, and good evening.
“I also learned that ‘pero’ means but, ‘ate’ is big sister, ‘ganda’ is beautiful and ‘guwapo’ is handsome.
“Yes, everybody is so handsome here!” tawa ulit ni Maria.
METRO FILMFEST. First time daw niya itong gagawin, kaya excited siya.
“I was checking the past parades on YouTube and I was thinking of wearing just a kimono.
“But then, on second thought, it’s going to be like 30-plus degrees outside and lots of crowds, so I’m still thinking about what to wear.”
“I told Direk Pedring [Lopez] that I want to do the scenes myself. All the stunts I want to do it.
"They already have a stunt double for me on the set. But I said, I want to do it because I want to show them how professional I am.
“I really don’t mind getting hurt. I had cuts and bruises, but it’s okay.
“It’s all part of my job as an actress. I should be able to do those things and I find it challenging.
“I know that everyone on the set is scared that I might hurt myself. But I was okay.
"I took up training in martial arts before. I know what to expect and how to take care of myself.”
CAREER MOVE.
Sabi niya, “I had a dream and I wanted to do it. I wanted to change my career.
“I want to do mainstream movies and I’m glad that I was able to find acting jobs in China, Indonesia, and here in the Philippines."
