Iya Villania criticized for continuous workout despite pregnancy

Iya Villania says that working out even while pregnant is beneficial to both mom and baby, "as long as your body says it's still okay and your doctor approves." She also said that working out will be beneficial to both baby and mom if one does it with the necessary precautions.


Umani ng iba’t ibang reaksiyon mula sa netizens ang video ni Iya Villania sa kanyang Instagram post, kung saan makikita siyang nagwu-workout.

May mga pumuna, nagpaalala, at nagpahayag ng concern kay Iya sa ginagawa niyang physical activities dahil siya ay nasa 2nd trimester ng pagbubuntis sa una nilang anak ng mister niyang si Drew Arellano.

Sa caption ng nasabing post, ipinaliwanag ni Iya na ang pagwu-workout ay nakatutulong upang mabawasan ang posibilidad na magsilang via caesarean.

Makabubuti rin daw ito sa mga buntis kung dati nang nagwu-workout bago pa man magbuntis.

Sabi pa ni Iya, “Pregnancy is definitely not the time to try and hit new fitness goals but rather about maintenance! If your body was used to an exercise prior to pregnancy then it will be safe to carry on (adjusting intensity accordingly) as long as your body says it's still okay and your doctor approves.”

Dugtong niya, “It will tell us when we need to slow down (or stop. We just have to be sensitive and listen to it. Cheers to the active mommas out there!”
