PEP EXCLUSIVE. 4th Impact on being part of X Factor UK: "Siguro destiny namin."

4th Impact, composed of (L-R) Celina, Irene, Almira, and Mylene Cercado, are excited to see Kanye West this Saturday at the Paradise International Music Festival. The all-girl group from The X Factor UK will perform during the music fest, which will be held at the Paradise Grounds in Aseana City, Parañaque.

Before being known internationally as 4th Impact, the four Cercado sisters from the Philippines were struggling to make themselves known as a vocal group.

They were actually on the verge of giving up until they were given the opportunity to audition on The X Factor UK Season 12.

Celina, Irene, Almira, and Mylene Cercado disclosed this to PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) in an exclusive interview held Thursday, April 7, at the City of Dreams grand ballroom.

The Pinay sister group ended up fifth in the competition, with Louisa Johnson emerging as the winner.

The girls are currently in Manila to be part of the lineup of Paradise International Music Festival (IMF) to be held this Saturday, April 9, at the Paradise Grounds in Aseana City, Parañaque.

Hip-hop royalty Kanye West will headline Paradise IMF along with rapper Wiz Khalifa, DJ Afrojack, pop sensation Austin Mahone, and many others.

What impact did X Factor have on their lives?

Almira said, “Very much nagbago po talaga dahil ten years namin tina-try na makilala sa Pilipinas by singing competitions.

“Now, hindi lang kami nare-recognize kundi all over the world.

“Nakaka-overwhelm and it’s a dream come true po.

“We started as Cercado Sisters then Gollayan Sisters, naging Fourth Power then Fourth Impact.”

Was there a time when they got discouraged and wanted to give up on their dream?

Almira said, “Especially pag nagpi-fail kami sa past competitions.

“The most was when nung nag-Korea kami [referring to the South Korean talent search Superstar K6], pinromise namin sa sarili namin na ito na yun, wala na talaga tayong pupuntahan.

“After a few months, naka-receive kami ng letter from X Factor na nakapasa ang aming video.”

Irene narrated, “After naming mag-give up, wala na, biglang may fan na taga-UK na [nag-suggest], ‘Why don’t you join X Factor UK?'

“Sabi nila, first time ng X Factor UK na mag-open sa other countries.

“Siguro destiny namin.”

It was their “Roar” video that opened doors for them in the U.K.

The girls from Santiago, Isabela, have been vocal in saying that they wanted to win X Factor UK so they can fund the surgery needed for their father who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

They were happy to give their father a chance to experience his first airplane ride.

“Kasama namin siya sa London. Yun yung first time niya na makasakay ng eroplano sa buong buhay niya.
