Piolo Pascual strongly pushes for the election advocacy of ABS-CBN called “Ipanalo ang Pamilyang Pilipino.”
The Kapamilya actor said it's about time that Filipino voters think about their family before they cast their votes in the upcoming national elections in May.
“Like what the station ID was saying, it's not about who the candidates are, but it's about empowering the family,” said Piolo during the press conference of the movie Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis last Sunday, March 13.
Then, he explained, “Ganun kasi tayo, e, masyado tayong family-centric.
“'Yong values natin as a family, as a nation ay nagsisimula sa bahay.
“Kumbaga, it's important for us to champion the Filipino families because 'yon tutulak sa atin to a brilliant decision as to who are we gonna choose to lead the country.”
Piolo also urged voters to take note of the candidates' plans for the country rather than focus on personalities.
“It's not about the candidate. It's about the platform, kung ano talaga ang mas makabubuti,” he said.
He even noted, “Ang daling mag-lip service, e. Ang daling magsabi kung ano ang pwede nilang gawin.
“Pero lahat naman nabe-break, so nakakawalang gana.
“Kaya I think it's more important now to think about ourselves.
“Tayo ang gumawa ng paraan para makakuha tayo ng magandang mamumuno ng bayan natin.”
In connection to this, Piolo encourages Filipino moviegoers to watch his and John Lloyd Cruz's movie Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis, while will premiere in cinemas on March 26.
“Parang ako, after Heneral Luna, talagang mabubuo ulit ang dugo mo bilang Pinoy. Lalo na election is coming up.
“This is timely because it will remind us how we became a nation that all started in a revolution more than a hundred years ago,” said Piolo.
