Pahayag ni Donald, na gumanap bilang President Coriolanus Snow sa The Hunger Games movies, “I think the critics were wrong. That’s a kind of big time, leading role.”
Papuri pa niya sa Filipio actress, “At the end of that movie, that vision that she has and her reaction to it while she’s eating those four white balls...”
Dagdag ng veteran actor, “But there were lots of really great performances by women. You gotta make a decision: Do you give it to the director? Do you give it to the screenwriter?
“You can’t give an actor’s performance in a film you select for something else. Those are the rules.”
Depensa pa ng Hungarian director na si Laszlo Nemes, “Come on, she’s the film. Have you seen the performance she gave? She broke my heart.”
We found her to be a wonderful, wonderful leading actress, a master of her skills.
“Regardless of what the rules are in this festival, it was not a supporting character.
“It was an absolute beautiful, beautiful performance by a lead actress, that’s why she got it.”
Saad naman ni Miller tungkol sa kanilang naging desisyon, “I describe a collective decision we’ve made is like us creating a painting.
“In this case, as a jury, we’re coming together, mixing something that’s highly well-crafted by something that’s innovative but quite not as mastered, with all these balances that we’re looking at and we’re looking at the awards as a totality.
“So that’s a way of explaining why we spent so much time so much rigor in this process. It was frankly exhausting.”
Panghuling depensa pa ni Donald tungkol sa kanilang desisyon: “I think what we have given you is a very complete and very satisfying assessment of our judgement, all of us.”
