Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach got emotional as she bid goodbye to her batchmate and roommate, Miss USA 2015 Olivia Jordan.
In her Instagram post today, June 8, Pia related that she felt so proud watching Olivia during the latter’s final walk at the Miss USA 2016 pageant.
Pia wrote in her post, “After you did your final walk I saw you come up to me and Katherine while holding your crown.
“Did you know that I've never seen you wearing it in person?
“But there we were, back on the same stage and exact same spot as last year.”
Flanked by Olivia and Miss Teen U.S.A. Katherine Haik, Pia was even moved to tears during the Miss USA pageant last Sunday night, June 5.
UNFORGETTABLE BOND. To recall, both Pia and Olivia shared a lot of milestones together ever since they joined Miss Universe 2015.
It was Olivia who was standing beside Pia when the latter was belatedly announced as Miss Universe 2015 back in December last year.
Since then, they’ve shared an apartment in New York and became instant pageant BFFs.
Pia further wrote in her post, “You've been so gracious and supportive.
“You even flew to the Philippines to be a judge and watch me pass on my Miss Philippines crown.
“Most of all thank you for making me feel like I wasn't alone during my down moments.
“Deshauna will do amazing things, I'm so sure of it.
“But fate bonded us last year and I'll never forget your kindness.
“I miss you already!”
SEPANX. Olivia passed the crown to the newly-hailed Miss USA 2016 Deshauna Barber from District of Columbia last Sunday, June 5.
Six days before the pageant, Olivia moved out of the New York apartment that she’s sharing with Pia.
Pia, for her part, admitted to having separation anxiety when she got home to their apartment with Olivia gone.
KINDRED SPIRITS. In an interview with YES! Magazine's senior writer Gabby Libarios, Pia revealed some of her most unforgettable experiences with Olivia.
“I remember our very first long conversation. It was all about pageants.
“Because we've both been in the pageant industry for quite some time, we clicked right away.
“She joined a few times before making it to Miss Universe, just like me.
“And we're the same age. That's how we bonded then.”
