Darren Espanto explains viral photo with a fan

Darren Espanto has this message to netizens who bashed him over the viral photo: "They should know the story first before they kinda judge someone."

Darren Espanto has clarified his viral photo with a female fan.

In the said photo, the fan was trying to form a heart symbol with the former The Voice Kids finalist. But Darren seemed to have failed to notice her gesture.

This resulted to negative comments from some netizens.

Some said Darren snubbed his fan. While others made fun of it by saying, “Hindi mo binuo ang puso ni ate.”

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to ask Darren about this issue during his #PEPjams shoot earlier today, June 10.

The 15-year-singer explained that he actually did the same gesture to his fan.

Actually, the photographer, even the people who own the photo booth which took the photos for my meet-and-greet, said that they took the photo a bit too quickly for me to put my hands.

But people saw naman na nabuo yung heart.

Mayroon namang proofs on social media.

The Darrenatics posted photos from the meet-and-greet.”

Although he's not at fault, Darren still feels sorry that his heart gesture with the fan was not caught on camera.

He said, “I felt bad.

“Pero yung girl naman po, she also reached out on social media. Nag-sorry pa siya.

“Sabi ko naman, parang 'don't be sorry.'

“They printed out the pictures para I could write on it and I think they'll send it now to her.

“I hope that makes her feel better.”

Darren also left a message to his fan in the viral photo:

“Pero if ever you're watching, Ate, mayroon po tayong picture sa social media na may heart kung gusto niyo pong hanapin.

“Thank you for attending the meet-and-greet. Sana pumunta ka sa susunod kong mall show para mabuo natin ang heart.”

To those who reacted negatively about the viral photo, Darren said, “They should know the story first before they kinda judge someone.”
