Gary Valenciano excited to be a grandfather; does not want to be called "lolo"

Gary Valenciano reveals that he won't be called "Lolo" by his first grandchild, expected to be born late this year. Mr. Pure Energy said he prefers to be called "Papi."

“I’m just waiting to become a grandfather, which is very soon. I think sometime in November,” bungad ni Mr. Pure Energy sa press conference ng Change for Good program ng Cebu Pacific at UNICEF noong June 16.

“I’m glad that it’s actually going to happen because I’m still young enough to run around with my grandchild,” sabi ng 51-year-old performer.

“Iniba ko lang nang konti ang hitsura ng bahay kasi I want my grandchild to spend time there.

“I will encourage the mama and the papa, ‘Work all you want. Okay lang. But make sure you leave the child here, at home with me.’

“And I’m looking forward to it.

“It’s a new chapter of my life and I’m looking forward to it.”

BEING A FATHER.

“I don’t think he’s prepared yet, but that’s okay, because he’s like his papa.

“I was not prepared for Paolo [when he was born], and so I can go up to him and congratulate him, ‘Welcome to the club, son.’ I was not prepared.

“But the thing is that he seems to be excited.”

“They have a dog named Trooper and he practices all the being lambing with that dog,” nangingiting sabi ni Gary.

Sabi ni Gary, “I think we will cross the bridge as we get there, because there may be challenges that he might face and I’ve never faced.

“So I’ll just have to remember everything that I’ve learned as a young dad.

“Remember, I was a father when I was 19-20 [years old].”

Samantala, 31-anyos na ngayon si Paolo.

Dagdag pa ng singer, “I think he’s learned a lot.

“He’s learned a lot from me, he learned a lot from his father-in-law.

“He’s learned a lot from his titas and titos, na ang daming nagtuturo sa kanya, by just living up their lives and him observing.”

“I feel good because I know this is going to have an impact on many children and I know it's going to have an impact to many of those who wanna get involved, who are looking for a way to get involved in doing something good, in doing a change for good,” pahayag ni Gary tungkol sa kampanya.
