Pregnancy has made Drew Arellano sweeter to his wife Iya Villania.
At her launch as the latest endorser of Claritin yesterday, July 13, the Kapuso host told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other media, “…to begin with naman kasi, he is very affectionate, e.
“We’re very, we’re a very affectionate couple so never siya nagkulang sa lambing.”
They have not had major fights either save for those instances she became more sensitive.
Iya related an instance.
"One time na nagluluto ako para kay Drew e masyadong maalat.
"Masyadong maalat yung niluto ko, parang he was just telling me, ‘Siguro next time pag nilagyan mo ng toyo, hindi mo na kailangan lagyan ng asin.’
"Sabi ko e sinusundan ko lang naman yung recipe, e.
"’Tapos nakita niya nung naghuhugas na ako ng pinggan e kinakausap niya ako, hindi ko siya, hindi ako nagre-reciprocate…
"Nakita niya ‘ko umiiyak na ako habang naghuhugas ng pinggan.
"Sabi niya, ‘What's wrong?’
"I said, ‘You made me feel like I never wanna cook for you again.’
"’Tapos sabi niya, ‘Hala, hala.’
"‘Tapos siyempre sabi niya, ‘Sorry, you want, you want…I want you to also correct me para I can be better chef for you, so I can be a better cook for you.’
"So naintindihan naman niya, pero I mean looking back at it now, medyo nakakatawa na naging ganun ka-sensitive ako.”
Other times, she said, “Tayong mga babae minsan, naghahanap na lang tayo ng dahilan para maging sensitive…”
What she meant was ladies tend to make an issue out of the pettiest things.
"When he rides out para sa Biyahe ni Drew [show] e malayo, may mga konting, I don’t know if it's part of me being sensitive, yung takot ko na sana maibalik yung asawa ko na buhay pa. Yung may mga ganun ako?
"But I don’t know if it's just because I’m pregnant or if there are times lang talaga na I worry.”
How do they kiss and make up?
She replied, “Wala, lambing-lambing lang.”
But doesn’t she prevent Drew from joining his motoring group’s road adventures?
"Hindi naman, hindi naman.
"At saka nasa kanya rin naman yun, e.
"Kung gusto niya pa makita yung baby namin, siguraduhin niya na uuwi siya sa bahay, di ba, makakauwi siya nang buo.”
It also pays to know that she knows he’s in good company.
"I mean, si Drew, responsible naman kasi siya saka yung mga kasamahan niya sa pagmo-motor, mga fam members also.
"So alam ko they are all watching out for each other at lahat sila may mga pamilya na kailangan ano uwian…”
HOME STRETCH OF PREGNANCY. They recently posted Baby A’s 4D scan image on Instagram, how did she feel then?
“Nakakatawa kasi parang…[yung] mommy ko, [sabi niya] na ‘Anak, may mga ganyan na talaga ngayon? Ngayon pa lang, kitang-kita mo na kung ano yung itsura.’
“But actually, when I went, dahil medyo malaki na nga si baby, siksik na siya masyado sa uterine wall ko so they couldn’t get a clear picture talaga of his face.
“But that was the best they can do, and I was happy with what we have. Okay na yun.”
Iya will be giving birth within the next two months.
When asked about how she feels, Iya said, “Medyo anxious ako sa labor because I’m really hoping to go normal.
“Sana natural pero it’s my first, I’m sure, hindi ko alam kung gaano kasakit ‘yan so I’m sure I mean there are a lot of other moms na normal din sana then biglang, ‘Turukan mo na ‘ko!’
“So tingnan natin kung hanggang saan ko kayanin pero yeah I’m just curious, I’m curious to know how painful it will be.”
Drew on the hand is “very excited,” according to his blooming wife.
