Nag-courtesy call si Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo-Wurtzbach kay President Rodrigo Duterte sa Malacanang ngayong Lunes, July 18.
Dumating si Pia nitong Sabado, July 16, upang idulog sa Presidente at makausap si Department of Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo tungkol sa posibilidad na maging ng susunod na Miss Universe pageant ang Pilipinas.
Nag-post pa si Pia ng selfie photo nila ni Pangulong Duterte sa kanyang Instagram account, at binanggit na pareho silang tubong-Mindanao.
Cagayan de Oro ang bayan ni Pia at mula sa Davao si Presidente.
Sa caption ng post, sinabi ni Pia na karangalan para sa kanya na makaharap ang pangulo ng bansa.
Bago ang pagkikita nila ni Presidente Duterte, unang nagtungo si Pia sa opisina ng DOT at nakipagpulong kay Sec. Teo tungkol sa layuning i-host ng Pilipinas ang Miss Universe 2016.
Sa maiksing statement, sinabi ni Pia na umaasa siyang mangyayari ito.
“I’m back here to work. Actually, it’s always been a dream of mine to be an ambassador of the Philippines and to promote tourism and I still continue on pursuing that goal of being a great ambassador as I go throughout my reign, as I visit different countries around the world as Miss Universe. “I will continue on doing that.
“I don’t think it’s a secret, I think it’s public knowledge that it is my personal dream and I think it’s a dream of a lot of Filipinos, the majority of the Filipinos, that someday we’ll see the Miss Universe Pageant to be held here. And we’re keeping our fingers crossed.”
