Mr. Chinatown 2014 runner-up Timothy Lawrence Yap quashes rumors linking him to Vice Ganda

Mr. Chinatown 2014 2nd runner-up Timothy Lawrence Yap on rumors linking him to Vice Ganda: "I know Vice and he's a nice person. I'm sure that I am not that guy."

Saad ng baguhang artista, “It was never in my dreams na mag-artista ako.

“Since may nagbukas na opportunity for me, why not do it, di ba? Wala namang mawawala.

“I know my parents have other dreams for me.

“May shipping business sila na ipapa-handle sa aming magkapatid balang-araw. Pero sayang naman itong chance to be in showbiz.

“Since nandito na ako, might as well go on with it and see where it takes me.”

Nakausap ng PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Timothy sa press conference ng pelikulang That Thing Called Tanga Na, sa 38 Valencia Events Place, Quezon City, noong nakaraang linggo.

VICE GANDA.

Pero ayon kay Timithy, “That’s not true. I know Vice and he’s a nice person.

“I’m sure that I am not that guy.”

May non-showbiz girlfriend si Timothy at two years na raw sila.

Sabi pa niya, “No talk of marriage yet.

“I’m only 24 years old at marami pa akong gustong gawin sa buhay.

“My girlfriend understands itong trabaho na pinasok ko.

“Alam niya na maraming temptations, maraming magiging intriga. But she’s ready for it.

“Eventually, naging second runner-up ako.

“One of the prizes is an acting workshop with Star Magic. Mga three to four months din yun.

“Then I got a call from the organizers of Mr. & Ms. Chinatown that Mother Lily Monteverde and Ms. Roselle Monteverde are holding auditions for new Regal Babies.

“I just gave it a try and soon I found myself as one of the 15 new Regal Babies.

“We started doing this acting workshop and immediately they put me in this movie titled Love Is Blind.

“Now I’m in this new movie, That Thing Called Tanga Na, where I play the husband of Angeline Quinto na makikipag-affair sa isang bading, who happens to be her best friend played by Kean Cipriano,” kuwento niya.

WORKING WITH SEASONED STARS. Maganda naman daw ang experience ni Timothy working with the whole cast, lalo na with Direk Joel Lamangan na inakala niya noon ay strict director.

“It’s a fun movie and everyone in the cast are so good.

“But Direk Joel was so helpful. Ang bait pala niya kaya it made working on the film a lot easier,” sabi ni Timothy.

Since isang gay movie ang That Thing Called Tanga Na, tinanong namin si Timothy kung kumportable ba siyang napapaligiran siya ng gays, lalo na sa pinasok niyang trabaho sa showbiz.

Sagot niya, “Oh, yes, I have no problems with gay people.

“I have friends who are gays. I’ve worked with gay people before.

“Wala pa naman akong unpleasant experience with gays. Okey sila sa akin,” diin pa niya.

PLANS.

“Yun ang gusto kong gawin before. I like to travel kasi. I want to see the world.

“I can still pursue that balang-araw. For now, I’m taking this opportunity to be in showbiz.

“I am enjoying myself because I get to meet and work with many celebrities.

Sabi ni Timothy, “I come from a very conservative Chinese family. Kaya may limitations.

“I can go shirtless. Okey lang yun.

“Pero beyond that, like endorsing an underwear brand or showing my butt on the big screen, hindi puwede.

“That would really shock my whole family!” natatawang sabi niya.
