"I feel that in the end justice will be served. I am sure that I will be vindicated. I am praying for an acquittal," says Senator JV Ejercito about his 90-day preventive suspension ordered by the Sandiganbayan. This is in connection to his alleged anomalous purchase of high-powered firearms in 2008, when he was still the mayor of San Juan City.

“Will be serving the 90-day preventive suspension because of the P2 million gun purchase case very soon. I am confident that I we will be vindicated.

“I must admit that I feel sad because I will not be able to discharge my functions as a legislator.

“I have been enjoying every minute that I am at the Senate knowing I am serving our people.

“Not to worry guys, I know that I am innocent. Just continue praying that we have a favorable decision soon.”

STANDING BY HIS DECISION.

Pahayag niya, “During those time, in 2007 or 2008, the peace and order situation was really bad...

“I acted, it was an executive decision because I feel that I had to do something at that time.

“Araw-araw ang bank robberies noon.

“If you would recall, during that time, there were bank robberies, holdups.

“That was the time when the PNP, the police here recalled high-powered rifles so, panay pistol lang ang mga baril ng pulis namin noon...

“Siguro alam ng mga sindikato noon na panay pistol lang ang mga pulis at that time.

“So, I told my administrator that, 'We really have to act now, the purchase of those firearms as soon as possible.'”

“So if that will be the decision, kung yun talaga ang magiging faith, tadhana, so be it.

“At least, alam ko na yung aking aksyon, napangalagaan ko ang aming constituents at that time.”

Dagdag pa niya, “I feel that in the end justice will be served.

“I am sure that I will be vindicated. I am praying for an acquittal.”
