“It's a sad day for Davao and for the Philippines."
This was the statement of Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte about the explosion that occurred at a night market in Davao City earlier, September 2.
At press time, reports claimed the unfortunate incident took the lives of 14 people and injured 36 people.
The cause of the explosion has yet to be determined.
On People's Television's Facebook account, Vice Mayor Duterte said, “Rest assured the authorities are on top of this incident.”
He added, “Let us pray for the victims of this unfortunate incident, especially for those who died.
“Let us pray for those who are being treated in different hospitals and pray for their quick recovery.”
