September 21 (September 22 in the Philippines) marked the International Day of Peace.
The Philippines became part of the international celebration, where Deniece Cornejo was one of the country's representatives.
It can be recalled that last month, she was appointed as the ambassador of goodwill of Chivalric Order of the Royal House of Baloi, a United Nations-affiliated organization based in Mindanao.
In an exchange with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) via Instagram, she mentioned her "good relationship with the committee of Peace Day based in New York."
Deniece further said about the event held at the Vivere Hotel & Resorts in Muntinlupa City.
"We celebrated International Peace Day same time in the U.S. here in the Philippines, together with other invited dignitaries, sultans, politicians, ambassadors from different countries, guests from seven continents, and a special participation of former president Fidel V Ramos."
She also had a selfie with a former president.
Her caption on Instagram read: "Exchanging of thoughts with the 12th president of the Philippines Fidel V. Ramos during the celebration of International Peace day."
The main highlight was the talk about the 17 sustainable development goals, which are said to be "primarily building blocks of peace."
These goals will also help build global harmony by "ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring broadly shared prosperity."
A United Nations representative of Secretary-General Ban-ki Moon delivered the message, a video snippet of which was posted by Deniece on Instagram.
When asked how it felt to be part of such event, Deniece told PEP, "I'm overwhelmed with the amount of blessings and support from people I meet.
"I also shared and discussed how beautiful our nature, culture, and people."
