Saad ni Lea, “Got home, prepared myself a drink, wrote opening night notes, and sat and thought about today. And despite the gloom and doom that I see on Facebook, I am still hopeful.
“Granted, the recent US Presidential Elections didn't go the way many of us wanted, but I still offer my congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump, and do hope that he does right by the American people.
“All of them, and not only the ones that voted for him. He has four years to prove himself, and I do wish him the best.
“Truly, I do. And I would like to thank Sec. Hillary Clinton not only for her many years in public service, but also for being such an inspiring figure in this last campaign season.”
NOVEMBER 8.
Lahad niya, “No, not everything in this world will go the way we would like for whatever reason, but this is not a reason to sulk.
“With every sunrise that comes, it is a day to hope, to smile, to do our best work. To make friends, to parent our children, to create something good.
“Each day is an opportunity to make the world a better place in our own little way. Despite the sadness of November the 8th, I refuse to bow down in despair.
“Exactly 365 days before the election, Allegiance opened on Broadway. No, we didn't last as long as we would've liked, but that our show opened on Broadway at all was a miracle made possible by the many people that believed in it.
“Which means that on November the 8th, something beautiful, miraculous, and hopeful happened. I'd rather remember the date for that.”
“So yes. There are things that happen in the world that don't always go the way we would like.
“But here we are. We get up in the morning with another opportunity to do our best, wherever we happen to be. So let us just keep on keeping on, shall we?
“See you all on the other side.”
