Pahayag ni Rhian, “I’d like to thank all the people who, either through DM or comment, shared their stories.
“I’m shocked at how often it happens and how similarly we’ve all felt when it did.
“We all seem to have our own reasons for why we did nothing, because of shock, shame, you thought you could have been blamed, fear that no one would believe you, not wanting to make a scene, maybe you were abroad and could have gotten into trouble.
“It just always seems that somehow, doing something comes with the possibility of it backfiring at you… and let’s face it, these incidents are so common and casually thought of that, if someone were to make a 'big deal' out of it happening to her, that’s exactly what people would think: that she’s just making a big deal.
“Isn’t it crappy how unhelpful we’ve all become.”
PROMISE TO DO SOMETHING.
“I’m inspired by the women who fought back, but also doubly inspired by the women who never got the chance.
“Thank you again for sharing, and I promise to do something about this problem.
“So many thanks to all who have called and offered to help me with this.
“In terms of media & social media, for now I’d like to return to regular programming.
“I’d like to encourage everyone to protect one another though.
“Kindness and respect make all the difference."
