Karylle keeps mum on rumored reconciliation of mom Zsa Zsa Padilla and Conrad Onglao

Karylle on marriage with husband Yael Yuzon: "It's good, good. I didn't expect that marriage will be so much fun. But it's so nice to have a partner in life that you can always count on."

Karylle is mum on the reported reconciliation of her mother, singer-actress Zsa Zsa Padilla, and architect Conrad Onglao.

“I don’t know,” she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and YES! at the recent launch of Happy Skin and Disney’s makeup collaboration in Makati City.

“Official na ba?” asked Karylle.

In October 2016, entertainment editor and columnist Ricky Lo reported that Zsa Zsa and Conrad have gotten back together after calling off their wedding in May.

“I don’t want to comment kasi wala akong masyadong alam,” said Zsa Zsa’s eldest daughter.

“But she’s my producer for my concert,” Karylle said, in an apparent move to change the topic.

PROJECTS. Karylle was referring to the concert series billed A Different Playground, which was successfully staged on November 4 and 11 at the Teatrino Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan.

A Different Playground is also the title of her latest album that was released earlier this year.

The singer, who also co-hosts the ABS-CBN noontime show It’s Showtime, announced that she would be seen soon in the Singaporean TV series Private Investigator.

“Finished na yung shoot namin,” she said. “That will air in January in Singapore.”

For those living outside Singapore, there’s another way to watch the series.

“Now kasi everything is online,” she pointed out, adding that the TV show’s producers have their own online channel called Toggle.

Back in August, Karylle flew to Singapore and stayed there for about two months to work on Private Investigator, where she plays a pole dancer named Maiya.

DISNEY PRINCESSES. Karylle expressed excitement for being chosen as one of the eight event ambassadors of the Happy Skin X Disney, the makeup line of the Filipino brand Happy Skin featuring the heroines in the animated films produced by the global entertainment company Disney.

Popularly known as Disney Princesses, those movie heroines include Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Belle (from Beauty and the Beast), Aurora (from Sleeping Beauty), Ariel (from The Little Mermaid), and Elsa and Anna (from Frozen).

She said she’s “super flattered” to be an event ambassador along with her fellow actresses Heart Evangelista and Carla Abellana, teen star Ylona Garcia, Philippine blogging pioneer Tricia Gosingtian, YouTube vlogger Janina Vela, and blogger-sisters Vern and Verniece Enciso.

Karylle is also proud that Happy Skin’s co-founder Rissa Mananquil-Trillo, a former top fashion model, was her schoolmate in high school at Poveda (now formally called Saint Pedro Poveda College).

“As a Povedan, parang we always try to support each other,” she said.

“So, I’ve always volunteered myself.

“Sabi ko, ‘Huwag kang mahiya. If you need anything, I’m always here to support you and to rally on the other girls.’

“We’re just so proud of this Filipino product, and now it’s being recognized by Disney.

"And then they’re doing this wonderful collab.

"All the girls are excited kasi siyempre panahon namin itong mga Disney cartoons na mahal na mahal naming lahat… Nakakatuwa!”

Likewise on Karylle’s plate is organizing Three Kings Fun Run and Family Day 2016, which will take place on November 20 at Camp Makario Sakay in Los Baños, Laguna.

“It’s a family project that I have,” she said.

“It’s also trying to get people to have a family day somewhere na ma-enjoy nila ang fresh air, yung bonding-bonding lang.”

MARRIED LIFE. Karylle is similarly upbeat on her personal life, particularly her marriage to Sponge Cola vocalist, musician, and songwriter Yael Yuzon. Karylle and Yael tied the knot on March 21, 2014.

“It’s good, good,” she beamed.

“I didn’t expect that marriage will be so much fun.

"But it’s so nice to have a partner in life that you can always count on."

She makes it clear, though, that she and her husband have not put on hold their plans to have children.

“No naman,” she clarified. “When the time comes, I think you will know.”

No pressure to give her mom Zsa Zsa a grandchild?

“Hindi pa naman,” she replied with a smile. “Mama is never one to pressure.”
