Benjamin Alves was surprised to hear that Julie Anne San Jose briefly mentioned in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com that she was "no longer single."
During the grand opening of Book and Borders Cafe's third branch at Eastwood City in Libis, Quezon City, on November 26, the Kapuso actor appeared clueless about the news.
"I have to talk to her if she said she wasn't single," Benjamin told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal).
He paused and then nodded, "Nakakatuwa naman, that's her answer."
Despite Julie Anne's reveal, the actor chose not to share the real status of their relationship.
He suggested it would be better to reveal details about their relationship once the two of them sat down with the press together.
Benjamin explained, "I know, I've been asked a few times na.
"Hirap kasi sagutin na hindi mo kasama siya, e.
"Hopefully, we'll get to answer it some time together."
WORKING TOGETHER. Earlier this year, it was announced that Benjamin and Julie Anne would have their first on-screen pair up via the TV adaptation of the 1987 film Pinulot Ka Lang sa Lupa.
They join LJ Reyes and Martin del Rosario in the lead cast.

He said, "We get to share a lot of time together.
"Kasi dati, parang sa party lang kami nagkakasama, you know, parang sobrang konti iyong time namin magkasama.
"This time, we're able to spend the whole day together.
"It's fun. We're happy."
