Gil is the leading man of Jennylyn Mercado in GMA Network's upcoming remake of the hit Korean series My Love From The Star.
When news came out that Gil bagged the much-coveted role, his girlfriend Kim Cruz took to Instagram to express how proud she is of his feat.
“No matter what happens I will be here for you through thick and thin, my partner.
“This is the big break you've always been waiting for and words cannot express how excited I am for you. You got this, my monkey.”
Gil is a graduate of De La Salle University and currently works as a professional model.
Kim, for her part, is a blogger and a freshman student at Ateneo De Manila University.
HOW THEY MET. Based on her ask.fm account, Kim revealed that she was an NBSB (no boyfriend since birth) prior to her relationship with Gil.
And much to her followers' delight, Kim added that she is also Gil’s first-ever girlfriend.
Asked about how they confessed their feelings for each other, Kim answered, “We both wanted to be courted, so we ended up courting each other. I also courted Gil kasi pa-chix siya.”
The 19-year-old Fine Arts student also shared that she and Gil were “close friends” before they said "I love you" to each other nine months ago.
They first met at the Preview Ball back in June 2015, and it took nine months before they became a couple.
On his Instagram post, dated August 28, Gil wrote in the comments thread: “It’s also funny how I first met her in Preview Ball last year.”
KILIG TIMES. The couple is known amongst their peers for setting the bar in terms of #relationshipgoals.
As it is, the two were quite inseparable even during Gil’s two-month modeling stint in Hong Kong.
Ever the sweet and supportive girlfriend, Kim went there to visit Gil for his 21st birthday last August 21.
This happened few weeks before Gil returned to Manila in time for his My Love From The Star audition.
