Hindi pa makapagsabi si Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach kung sino ang kanyang early favorites sa mga kandidata sa nalalapit na Miss Universe 2016 pageant, na gaganapin dito sa Pilipinas sa January 30.
“I can’t tell because I haven’t seen all the girls yet in person,” sabi ni Pia nang matanong tungkol dito sa kanyang Facebook Live, sa Miss Universe account, nitong Sabado, January 7.
Dugtong ng Pinay beauty queen, “What I learned from the past Miss Universe, you can’t really start your prediction unless you’ve seen the girls in person.
"Because photos and all that, it’s so easy to look so [glamorous], some girls may surprise you in person.
“That’s why I don’t wanna cancel anybody out.
"Maybe we have somebody now who’s not really social media savvy, but then you see her in person, and then you’re, ‘Oh! She’s a dark horse.’
"So I can’t say for now. I have to see the girls in person."
MORE THAN A BEAUTIFUL FACE. Bilang Miss Universe, ipinaliwanag din ni Pia na higit pa sa magandang mukha ang hinahanap niya sa magmamana ng kanyang korona.
"I look for somebody who can take the job. That’s how I see it.
"When you watch it, you go for the prettiest girl, the best body or with the best answer.
"But what I look for is the overall personality and attitude because you’re gonna be applying for a job.
“It’s not gonna end on the pageant night. It actually starts there. That’s day one of the job.
“Because I know the job, what I look for is somebody who is ready to take on the job for a year.
"You have to commit to it. It has to be something you really wanna do.
"And not really something that’s spur of the moment because it’s fun, because it will make you popular.
"You have to love your job.
“That’s what I look for in a candidate, and I won’t be able to tell unless I see the girls up close.
“I’d be able to tell who has that spark in the eyes, that fire to wear the crown.”
Para naman sa mga kandidata ng Miss Universe, ito ang mensahe ng Filipina beauty queen:
“Take a lot of photos. Enjoy. Have fun with it. This is something you can’t do again.”
