Miss Universe 2016 candidates have started arriving in Manila for the 65th edition of the prestigious pageant.
The grand coronation night will happen on January 30 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
EARLY BIRDS. Miss US Virgin Islands Carolyn Carter was the first Miss Universe candidate to arrive.
The 26-year-old beauty queen landed in the country on Saturday evening, January 7.
Carolyn received a warm welcome from Filipinos at the airport.
On Instagram, she remarked: "Just stepped off the plane, but first, let me take a selfie. Philippines, you sure know how to make a girl feel loved and welcomed!!! MAHAL KO KAYO!!!"
Miss Guyana Soyini Fraser was the second candidate to arrive. Her plane landed on Sunday night, January 8.
Miss Brazil Raissa Santana and Miss Sierra Leone Hawa Kamara arrived on Monday night, January 9.
On Instagram, Raissa wrote, "Hello, Manila! Such a warm welcome from this nice and sweet people."
For her part, Hawa posted, "The Filipinos are so warm. They gave me the best welcome. Thank you all."
On Tuesday, Miss Thailand Chalita Suansane arrived in a Barong-inspired outfit and with her 17-piece luggage.

Miss Albania Lindita Idrizi arrived on Wednesday night, January 11.
In an interview with the press, the 20-year-old beauty queen expressed her excitement about exploring the country.
Miss Kenya Mary Esther Were and Miss Tanzania Jihan Dimachk arrived together late Monday.
Miss New Zealand Tania Dawson had the chance to visit her family in Pangasinan.
Tania participated in the Miss Universe kick-off events last December.

DAY 1 ARRIVALS. Around 40 candidates arrived on Thursday, January 12, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City.
Miss USA Deshauna Barber, Miss Canada Siera Bearchell, and Miss British Virgin Islands Erika Creque were welcomed by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Undersecretary Kat de Castro.
Miss Singapore Cheryl Chou, Miss Malaysia Kriran Jassal, Miss Mauritius Kushboo Ramnawaj, and Miss Finland Shirly Karvinen all took selfies upon their arrival at NAIA.
