Newbie Alex Godinez on working with ex-BF Matteo Guidicelli: "It wasn't weird at all."

Alex Godinez said she does not find it awkward to be working with ex-boyfriend Matteo Guidicelli because they remained friends after their breakup.

Alex is Matteo’s leading lady in the upcoming action movie, Across the Crescent Moon, which is opening in cinemas on January 25.

Alex, 27, is a theater actress and the niece of singer Martin Nievera.

“With Matteo I was, like, ‘Oh, great! I know him already!’

"We’ve been friends before, so there won’t be a problem getting to know each other.

"It wasn't weird at all, not at all," the newbie actress related to (Philippine Entertainment Portal). spoke to Alex after her film’s press conference today, January 16, at Gloria Maris restaurant in Gateway, Cubao, Quezon City.

MEETING SARAH GERONIMO. Alex said that her past with Matteo is all behind them.

She is happy with her boyfriend of eight years now, and he is happy with Sarah Geronimo.

Alex pointed out, “We were together when I was 17, and I’m 27 now—that’s ten years ago.

"Both of us have relationships, we’re in long-term relationships, and our ‘spouses,’ if you would call them that, are very supportive."

In a separate interview, Matteo said Alex and Sarah had already met in an event.

PEP asked Alex how her meeting with the Popstar Princess was.

“Yeah! She gave me silvanas, she's so nice!” she beamed.

“I had a good time with her, like, we were both sitting in the dubbing session, and she was very kind to me."

She continued, "We were very civil. I have no bad blood with anyone."

She added, “I hope that Sarah’s fans like me."

The showbiz newbie admitted getting a bit of bashing from some of Sarah’s fans.

"I do a theater show at least every year."

The last she did on stage was American Idiot and, recently, she was awarded the Best Featured Actress by BroadwayWorld Philippines.

She studied acting in the United States under Howard Fine, a renowned acting coach who trained Hollywood actors Michael Chiklis and the late Heath Ledger.

Right now, Alex is grateful for landing a lead role in her first major film project.

“If I have the opportunity to choose scripts, even better.

“But at the moment, I’m down to do whatever people believe that I can do.

“I really have to work on my Tagalog, but I’ll do any language. I just need a little time to rehearse it.

"I’m really open to doing movies, indie or not, teleseryes,” she said.

Asked about the local celebrities she wants to work with, Alex answered that she hopes to play the sister of Andi Eigenmann in an acting project.

Others on her wish list are Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, and Bea Alonzo.
